So after losing the back end of my rex in the rain going pretty much in a straight line, and totalling it against a street lamp pole. I have resolved to put traction control (probably racelogic) in my new/repaired rex.

I am just wondering if it\'s viable in a rotary, all i can remember is ppl saying running lean is a rotary killer etc. Traction control systems either turn off the spark or fuel supply in order to control engine power... So will it work? On racelogic\'s website they say that if you retard the fuel supply enough there is no detonation at all -therefor it\'s safe?

What do you think?

Look up previous threads on this. General concencous is not to fit RL systems to an FD.

Whilst a fuel cut system is probably to be avoided unless you really know what you are doing, spark cut should work fine, or fuel and spark cut at the same time.

Having read a few of the threads on engines killed by traction control and have yet to find one that clearly points the finger of blame at the racelogic system and not bad setup.

I could easily setup a racelogic to destroy an engine, as could I a power FC, motec etc.

As ever I am happy to be proven wrong, but haven\'t seen anything yet.

One point to bear in mind is that tuning a car for drivability is very difficult and most tuners don\'t/can\'t tune for this.

I have had Motec with traction control, was fine.
