Hi guys...

First of all what an incredible place - full of like-minded people. V Impressed!

I am picking my \'7\' next week from a small importer and wondered if u guys could give me a few pointers prior to handing over cash. I have driven it + checked it over for several hours and all appears cool (famous last words!)

if you can help with these queries that would really help me out...

1.) It is a 93\' has 60,000 KM on clock - is that good/average? I want to get conversion/de-restriction done myself any recommendations for people that can do it in the London area?

2.) It is missing the plastic splitter from the ront bumper for some stange reason? Any ideas where I can get a replacement - tried Mazda they wanted £211!!!

3.) It doesn\'t have suede seats + no front strut brace, apart from this it is identical to a type R. Is it or a lower grade model?

4.) I have negotiated a 12 month warranty with the garage (pretty handy I guess) + and extra policy to cover electrics + Turbos. Any advise on the warranty - things to look out for in the small print?

5.) Should I get a de-registration document from the dealer to say it has left Japan?

I\'d really appreciate any feedback you guys have for me...

Looking forward to adrenalin rush.... when I pick her up...

Cheers

Craig

Congratulations mate. Hope it gives you plenty pleasure.

The mileage seems pretty good, still time till rebuild but depends how standard its been kept.

I think the plastic splitter was an extra on the RX-7\'s. Makes such a big difference to appearance in my opinion so make sure you get one on. :p

Lots of dodgy warranties flying around, best make sure it covers rebuild on rotaries. Some say they would but dont!

No need for de registration document really. If its already registered here. Then again, wouldnt hurt to have a copy just incase.

Hi, Im picking mine up probably next week aswel :) What importer did you use. Im in the Surrey area so I might have heard of them.

1) 27,282 miles is prety good, what year is the car?

2) Try Tim at RX Motors, Im sure he has loads, and will be 1/4 of the price of mazda. Website: http://www.rxmotors.co.uk Ive used them for parts for our 1st gen RX-7, they have thousnds of parts for all models :)

3) Not sure about what model it is try this website, this has helped me loads: http://www.rx7.net.nz/fd-jp-models.html

I cant help you on the other questions although you could ask for the auction sheet which will tell you what grade the car was when it was brought over and show you where all the bumps and dings are/were.

Have fun

yeah or try Jeff at rework if it\'s the bit i\'m thinking of i recall him saying he had loads due to removing them when doing intercooler upgrades (i was looking at possibility of getting sum CF ones made but didn\'t/haven\'t)
Best advice CHANGE THE TYRES ASAP not worth putting off as i found (OK cr4p driving aside b4 u lot start) to my cost!!!!!!!! (+get alignment sorted while doing this i recall the japs have sum weird settings many times although dunno about mine think the crash barrier/curb may of altered them anyway but all my wheels were pointing in wrong direction prior to geometry being done today))
If you can get sumwhere big & open like elvington or bruntingthorp & learn limits in safety,
Car wise: change plugs, oil, oil filter, fuel filter, induction filter if it\'s one which needs it & erm sure there\'s lots more expensive stuff i have forgotten http://www.smileycentral.com/?partner=ZSzeb008\' target=\'_blank\'>http://smileys.smileycentral.com/cat/7/7_15_5v.gif\' border=0>

PS my type R bathurst also lacks strut brace think it\'s the special cars which are like this to save weight not that i\'m biased or making it up or anything http://www.smileycentral.com/?partner=ZSzeb008\' target=\'_blank\'>http://smileys.smileycentral.com/cat/7/7_5_119.gif\' border=0> lol

Guys...

Thank for all your answers - that helps me out loads + really appreciated! (especially if RX Motors have a front splitter for me!)

The car I am buying is from a fairly small Jap importer (mainly deals in 4X4\'s) in hertfordshire and occasionally get\'s 7\'s only a dozen or so a year if they are good. The one I am getting is a 3rd gen 93 on a K Plate.

Its also got a non-standard boot spoiler on it that I haven\'t seen b4 looks cool - the previous owner had also done a damn good job tinting the rear boot glass - never seen one done so well...

Is RX Motors in Dorset the best + closest place for servicing? As I reckon I should get all fluids changed before I do any serious miles...

Any of u \'7\' owners in the Sutton/Wimbledon area?

Anyone going to HIN UK next weekend?

Cheers for now...

Craig
