As announced today the ULEZ zone expansion has been approved. Anyone got any suggestions for a way around as a London owner of an 1992 FD RX7 UK car? It isn't compliant for ULEZ despite leaving the factory with two catalytic converters.

Just looked up exemptions and found this for you/

Maybe take the RX-2 Home if its old enough and leave the FD at work?.

In line with the existing LEZ discount all vehicles constructed before 1 January 1973 are exempt from the ULEZ, regardless of commercial use or otherwise. If your vehicle meets the above criteria but is registered outside the UK, it is also exempt, but you will need to register it with us before travelling in the zone.

All vehicles that have a historic vehicle tax class are exempt from the ULEZ. (so if you pay no Road Tax on the RX-2 you are OK)
All the best Clive

Always a good idea to keep the Rx-2 at home!  ;)

Currently fuming!
Now going to cost me £12.50 just to get off the drive. Yet aother tax burden to finance for TFL

Still, it seems paying means the 'pollution' doesn't count?!? Its bad enough impacting my "weekend warrior" but affordable given how often she gets driven. However not sure I trust them not to change the rules and go after more ....... rant over (for now )

Also just read that Heathrow is within the ulez zone. So someone like me who hasnt been to london since the 90s but ive been to Heathrow numerous times will get charged to go on holiday.
Pure money making.
Those 2 incinerators on the Thames that gov approved put circa 26000 tonnes of c02 ea annually into the environment.

What narks me is this country is so insignificant in the grand scheme of things.

This "we can all make a difference" ........get real ! The whole of the UK can eradicate every single internal combustion engine and the polar bears will still suffer. China and America clearly have no intention of changing tactics.
China are too arrogant to care and most of the US dont know there's a world outside of America, oooooooo you got me on my soap box now lol
