Thanks to Jamie's excellent fabrication of a pair of brackets I now have the front 4 Pots on the back of the car.
Next weekend at Snetterton I will see if I now have the brake balance I need to let me brake deeper into corners without fear of locking the fronts as I did last time out.

Just turned into a three day event.
After a bit of pestering, MSVR have let me sneak into the afternoon Test session on Friday at Snetterton, the day before the race.

This gives me a chance to set the brakes, suspension and tyre pressures up to go racing.

Tomorrow I am off to a wheel alignment centre to get the toe altered on front and rear to hopefully help with corner entry turn in as I still feel its lacking in this area.

Straight after Snetterton I have to start working out a new exhaust system as the dyno showed too much back pressure going from 4" to 3" which is literally strangling the engine about 6500rpm with 8 psi back pressure its literally stalling the Turbo and leading to lack of boost !

This means Snetterton will become a different track as I will need to be changing up in places I wouldn't normally dream of, in other words I have got to learn how to drive  :(

Looks like I'm not going to make it up to Snett this weekend after all.

I see the Sat race is very late in the schedule and we have a home football fixture.

Sunday is Tommy's 1st birthday party, in Brentwood - can't miss that  :)

I wish you every success at the weekend Clive  :13:

What time is your test session on Friday Clive? Maybe I can see you on Friday....?

Motor Racing is Dangerous.

Not a good day today, in the first test session at Snetterton, I was really pleased with changes to the brakes and suspension geometry changes to the car but last lap the car went onto tick over.

With the fly-by wire throttle reset I knew the cars throttle wasn't right and was going to drive back, but coming out of the Hamilton corner the throttle jammed wide open and there was no way I was going to make the next corner so with the brakes full on I chucked the car into a spin, praying I wouldn't hit the barrier at something like 70-80 MPH but I still did !.

In 50 years on track it's probably the hardest hit I've had, got a sore neck and a dislocated shoulder that my mate Jim pulled back into position. Looks like the body shell is OK and thankfully I got the car to spin which scrubbed off some speed. Had I gone in head on, the car would have been scrap and maybe me as well.

Really sorry to see/hear that Clive. I dare say you'll be inundated with sentiments about it being great that at least you are OK. They aren't much help when you unload the trailer and have to set to though. Call if there is anything I can do in the 'you hold it I'll hit it' department.  Don't have Steve's skillset but will bring my own biscuits.

First things first: so happy to hear you are ok! Hope you'll get some good physio for that shoulder and neck. Well done to avoid a total write-off and potentially serious injury!  :sign0098:

Hopefully the car is still structurally sound and repairs won't be too difficult. Main thing is your shoulder gets time to heal properly. Shoulder joints are delicate and complex stuff and to race, you'll need two fully functioning ones.

Get well soon, pilot!

So sorry to hear this news. Even more disappointing for you give the herculean effect to get Christine the extra rotors.
As people have said, cars can be rebuilt but people are more fragile so glad to hear you're doing OK.

Thanks for the thoughts and offers, they are appreciated.

Necks OK today and I started my physio today by starting today by starting to strip the car  ;)

Not quite as bad as I thought and confined mainly to the head lamp braketery area.

The impact force was so great that it tore my battery box from its mounts and flipped the door catch to the locked position (so that's why we couldn't get the door open!).

Fortunately I still have the old spitter that will give me holes i can use to re-align the bent brackets.
Monday I will order a new wing so by the end of the week I can get the headlamp back in the correct position so the new nose cone will fit.
Sadly my new oil cooler has a hole in it so I have decided to try and save some money and see if my welder mate can sort it for now.

Mazdaspeed nose cone or replica needed!

Unfortunately, I need a need a nose cone to get the car out for the next Donnington event. Doesn't need to be perfect, what have you? if not maybe a different aftermarket fibreglass  nose cone.

Huge thanks to Jim and Wayne for sorting out a nose cone for me to get out for Donnington in three weeks time.

Wayne donated the nose (thank you) then Jim heroically drove for like 10 hours and around 700 miles to collect it for me !!(thank you)

Christine still hasn't beaten us yet  :angryfire:
