Quote from: Hobbawobba on November 15, 2022, 07:24:13 PMThis should be interesting. So this is going to be a short crank 3 rotor then aye? Mind if I ask where you got the crank from? I've been floating this idea with my FB aye :great:

I think someone already mentioned. A PDM would save massively on wiring, and provide huge amounts of safety whilst racing aye :icon_thumright:

Going to use a stock length shaft with a Mazda centre iron as a thin billet plate would have been expensive.
Here you go, stock and short length shafts are here.

If you decided to buy a shaft, as a trader I should be able to get you a better price

Oh yeah sweet as aye. In reality I think they're still a bit much for me at the moment aye! Thanks though hahaha :13:

Another part of the jigsaw arrived, I now have a new Flywheel / Clutch assembly .

I wanted to stay on a single plate assembly with a Racing Beat Alloy Flywheel

The last pressure plate was rated at 598 lb/ft and held 500BHP

This one was custom built for me and has a clamping force of a whopping 2375 lb/ft, that should hold the extra power and torque.

Mr Spiller

So what gearbox will you be using Clive ?

You are going to have to start going to the gym to beef up your left leg.

Is there such a thing as a servo assisted clutch?

I'll have to get some duel controls and Jim can sit in the passenger seat to operate the clutch :D

Bit of news.

Carl has now finished the Big Street Port to the spec I wanted on the plates and housings.

New 3rd Rotor is due in from Japan next week.

3 Rotor shaft is now machined up and will leave New Zealand Friday or Monday  :13:

Ordered up a pair of AEM Smart Coils as I may need another two to spark up the extra Rotor  ;)

Next I will hopefully need a lot lot more rear end grip so we are going to have to have a fat boy rear end to get these under, that will probably be clothed in monster HanKook tyres.

Just ordered these from America last night Konig Heliogram 18X12 5X114.3 ET20 Titanium Metallic .

Nice wheels. Any way possible to put big wheels up front as well..... square set up. Get the braking to match the go. Rotation to limit wear. And negate any push understeer.
You know it makes sense.

The 10's rub on lock as it is so I don't think it's do able.

As for understeer, on reflection I really haven't been able to get the Balance I have wanted on turn in this year, so I could brake later into corners.

To combat this I am going to double up on the rear anti roll bar which should cure things, so rather than having the shocks stiffer at the rear, hopefully this will let me run the shocks softer giving more grip.

Is this something you have also tried  in the  past Clive ?
Sure I remember reading it somewhere ?
Would more wing angle help
?

Many thanks for the thought Wayne.
Yes played with all this in the past and have settled on the angle I have now.
Any steeper angle pushes the car into understeer.

I remember as Jon will remember. I put the car on pole one day, but felt there was more to come from the car and was going to change the rear wing angle but Jon talked me out of it , exclaiming but you have just it on pole so best leave it alone.

Good old Jon, I won the first race overall, stupidly I changed the wing for the second race and the car was junk  :violent1:

It is the sign of a good chassis though that even small changes make a big difference. I have had race cars before that you change everything and the thing still feels the same!

Jon, thanks for the thought on the sump and yes, had that come up a couple of months ago, I could have worked with that and saved a big lump of Money!

The new shiney (expensive) one should be here tomorrow from Pineapple Racing :)
