55th ANNIVERSARY CELEBRATION EVENT! - SATURDAY 9TH JULY 2022

Some last minute reminders about Saturday.

• I would suggest you aim to arrive 7.30-8.00am, although a little earlier is OK. Later and there is a risk of queues on the approach roads
• Enter via the BLUE gate and go straight on (unless the marshals direct you to turn right). Turning left is a no-no! See map below
• Head for stand numbers F24-F25 if you are on the MRC stand and organise the parking on there however you like
• Head for E7-E9 if your car is part of the heritage timeline
• There will be RX-8 OC parking marshals to assist and they may ask for your name to check you off an attendee list
  
• From about 7.30am there will be a check-in desk operating one of 2 large RX-8 OC gazebos in the E8-E9 area
  
  The Check-in desk will issue you with:
  - a green wristband if you are not in the parade
  - a red wristband if you are in the parade
  - additional green wristbands for your guests who came with you
  - Parade lap drivers will also receive a JDM Combe waiver form to complete and some further instructions about the timing and operation of the ~2 circuit laps, in two lanes of 34 cars each lane
  


• 
  A green or red wristband will entitle everyone to bacon rolls for breakfast, hot/cold drinks and other refreshments FOC. No band, no refreshments. This will help the volunteer chefs, who will not know many of you by sight.
• If you enjoyed the refreshments, a donation, however small, via paypal to shop@rx8ownersclub.co.uk would be gratefully received.

If there are any questions, post them up. I will be leaving home on Friday at ~10.30am for a leisurely trip, non-motorway, down to Chippenham. I won't be able to access the forum on the trip, but will check this topic when I arrive in the afternoon.

I'm very much looking forward to seeing some of you on Friday night at the Premier Inn, and everyone else on Saturday. The weather is looking amazing, so bring sun protection

Theres so much covid about guys, i know 5 people with it. Im lucky to have hols for this event as my workmate got from his wife who went to Glastonbury. My boss was gonna cancel my hols. But other workmate said hes happy to be on own.
So no hugs from me.

At the check-in desk you will get a JDM Conbe form to complete, which driver and passengers have to sign and hand over to marshals in the assembly area.

No requirement for helmet on parade lap, nor long sleeves or long trousers, I am told. I'll be in shorts and T in this heat!

Well, I cleaned my RX-7 FB inside and out, went for a short run and topped off fuel, then packed it yesterday,  ready for the long trip down to Chippenham today.

I went to back it out of garage today and there was a crunch as I selected reverse. The clutch bite point in now right on the deck! Suspect slave cylinder is failing.....

No time to sort it, quick clean of RX-8, transfer all the stand stuff over and have driven it down to Chippenham. Arrived about 45 mins ago, to find the rotaries are already herding in the car park!

Oh thats a shame mate,   maybe a few pumps wouldve sorted it but with a long journey ahead the right thing todo. I expect the geese will fly over our house tonight or morning and ill have omelette all over my shiny shiny car.

I like to believe that's why mine is always a little grubby Preventive maintainence
