Thanks Clive, got it Luckily for me it came with the fd3 specific harness so I don't need to splice any wires but wanted to make sure I was unplugging the correct plug With the car parked in the garage I couldn't get my hand in to trace the loom to the coils. 
Need to find somewhere suitable to mount the unit too @boosted Jon did you find somewhere tidy to fix it in your fd?

Hi yes i bolted and earthed to strut brace mount.. i had to remove it to drill a hole but easy painless.
