Rear struts are off. A reminder that the sophisticated Rx2 was the only rwd non-leaf-sprung rotary Mazda before the Rx7. You often hear that the Savanna Rx3 platform formed the basis for the Savanna Rx7 (SA22C), but that did not include the rear suspension.

If it wasn't for all the rally footage, you'd easily forget the Starlet was rear wheel drive until 1984.

Parcel came from Riggs in Canada today. New Nikki Narratives to follow at some point. Hopefully a short and happy story this time. This carb is from an Rx2, so fingers crossed it works as it should and allows Noriaki to idle calmly and decently...

Just received this. A period ad from the exact same car dealer who first owned Noriaki. Cheeky use of the Rx500, btw!

It proudly announces "New Mazda dealership: Øens Auto A/S" with a period-correct 3-digit phone number!
"There's always a Mazda for your needs and in your price range"

Slow progress is better than no progress, or so they say. The brake calipers have been in the "deep fat fryer" and are slowly being painted and put back together. Hopefully this will sort the sticking brakes issue and make sure Noriaki stops evenly.

Nice work, they are coming along well. I find refreshing brake calipers to be very satisfying, but can be hard work!
