My old square pump sounds like a mad woodpecker on speed drumming away in the rear wing. So if these little Facet pumps are silent, that's good news!

Bonnet's been delivered to the paint shop. Dismantling front headlamps I found lots of mud behind them. :icon_porc:
Right hand door needs adjusting a tad backwards, so I will have to get to those hinges. In the process I located some left-over sound proofing (probably damp) in that area - grrrr. Finally got my parts from Phil's Rotaries down under, so looks like project is on the track again. Still waiting for carb and fuel pump. Once they arrive, I'll post a couple of pics.

The Nikki is back from refurbishment. Water-blasted and fitted with new seals. Acceleration pump fixed. Neat!

Coincidentally, I've spent a few hours today continuing to clean up a spare 4 barrel Nikki carb - dismantling most parts, some of which I've already electroplated to try and preserve the original look. I have a Hygrade rebuild kit but I'm not sure I'll ever manage to get it all back together correctly! I've taken loads of photos and have several carb service manuals so hopefully will be OK

Brave man! I was warned the Nikki can be tricky. Left with a pile of left-over seals that don't fit mine - had to mix two different sets.

Ready (nearly) for a trip out on the trailer - to the paint shop. Just the fuel lines, pump and filter left to fit.

Noriaki moved on from glass shop to paint shop today. Unfortunately, the old windscreen cracked when they took it out.

Known to happen, I have a new one, but still a bit of a waste. Not too much rust underneath, though. Bonnet is in primer already. Still haven't found holes for Coupé-badge on the boot lid. Exciting times ahead!

The Rx2 is the King of Bling. 12 badges in all, 10 of them on the photo here. If I wore them all, I could probably pass for a hip-hop artist from the 1980s.

Renewing all I can find and Pac Performance have been very helpful for collecting them. Their "coffin" grille badge came without the blue enamel, but it turned out Humbrol's 222 blue metallic is pretty much on the spot. One of the rear wing badges came in two halves, but I was very kindly offered a replacement with my next order.

More preparations for "giant model kit" build. Cleaning, painting and polishing. In base silver, that radiator grille looked a bit Aston Martin DBS. I bought a spare one to experiment on and will keep the original as a back up. It was too nice to mess with.
