If it's 500hp that's  more than I need
I can easily cancel and defer to the 8374 .
I just thought I'd try the 8474 is an improvement on the 8374 that I'd be better with it
Not for BHP just all round improvement

If it's 500hp that's  more than I need
I can easily cancel and defer to the 8374 .
I just thought I'd try the 8474 is an improvement on the 8374 that I'd be better with it
Not for BHP just all round improvement

From what I understand, the 8474 flows about 10% more than the 8374. Other than sizing differences, I'm not aware of any technology improvements on the newer 8474, so it's really a case of deciding how much power you want, and how much boost you want to run to get there.

The 8374 will spool slightly earlier, have better transient response and will still get to 500bhp at somewhere around 1.2-1.3bar, which is just about where it's entering its efficiency zone.

Once spooled, the 8474 will make easier work, which could be beneficial in temperature management, given that the EFRs are known for running pretty hot.

Depends on your goals and what you intend to use the car for I guess. I'd probably go with the 8374 if you're going to use it on the road and 8474 if it's going to be track only.

Yeh the 84 will be better for sure but its a good example of what you can expect from your setup

Yes it will be just a track car , so earlier spooling the better .
Thinking about it , I think it said somewhere unless the engine is heavily ported the 8374 is better

I'd go for some gt30s if I was having twins. They do them in counter rotation too so it would look mint, one turbo spins one way and the other spins the opposite way

Not sure if you had forgotten the turbo I run. ;)

This year I will put the boost up to where it was mapped to at 540bhp we knocked it back to 520!

As you will know boost comes on so softly and low, it even lets me win races in the wet  :) 

And the Turbo is built for me in the UK

Nope never forgot it
Just thought it was the closest kept secret in MRC history lol
I never knew it was available .....
the reason for going IWG was the fabrication and little room available for the wastegate amd blow off valve to fit and return to the exhaust to keep  the noise down
I must look into this

Yes I can see it now , please excuse my lack of knowledge .
So , you have a 2into one Y effect t piece from manifold  pipes into that then it just goes straight out under the car to atmosphere ?

I will show you a picture in a couple of weeks with the exhaust back on.

100% you never use a screamer pipe on track because when the wastegate opens it makes the same noise as a car without a silencer i.e. Very Loud
