So when work drop a bombshell on me and tell me that I allegedly have 5 days holiday carried over from last year that I need to take before the end of March.

Pffffft "keep a straight face Jamie" yes OK I can take them before end of march. Door closes, check my holidays, nope used all last years, but you wanna pay me to work on my car? Break me off a piece of that !

So productive day so far, made hose separators, mounted my reservoirs somewhere sensible, made some brackets, plumbed the low pressure side all in and made a nice lil bracket for my brake bias balance bar adjuster, which i wish now I just called it a knob.

Happy days.

I think I have finally stopped blinking now. This is the wildest & most impressive project I've seen since the Ford Saxon:

Do you have a colour in mind yet? Is it going to be:

ES that's the oddest mk1 cortina.

I'm not sold on it, might be because I love the mk1 Tina so much

But definitely different

ES as wild as you think it is, nothing exciting going on at mo, waiting for parts for new oil filler neck in stainless.

This is so it frees up some space on the engine and cleans it up.
Moves the vacuum chamber and solenoids away from the exhaust
And when I get a shakey hand I don't miss the hole with the oil can and tip it all over the alternator.

So the highlight of today is a crude jig out of a bit of crappy timber to locate brackets as the filler neck supports the upper intake and throttle body.

You're living dangerously, Jamie. If you say you love Cortinas, I just have to post a pic of my old pre-rotary banger...  ;)
Sorry, folks.

Very nice ES the mk1's were by far the best shape.

Good colour too.

I tried building a space framed ford anglia 105e about 20 years ago. The chassis was easy but my tin work isn't the best and probably still isn't. Panel beating and using an English wheel is something I've always wanted to do but never got round to it.

I mothballed that project pulled the Vauxhall XE engine out and built a mk1 escort estate using that engine. It was featured in classic ford magazine and on the front cover.

I also owned a 36k mile from new ford Corsair 2000e. V4 engine. 3 speed auto. I loved it, blue mink metallic with a black vinyl roof. Then 2 youths t boned me off the road as they come out of a field and left me in a ditch. That was the end of that car.

I really want another 105e anglia. It's my favourite shaped car of all time. Maybe one day.

In the meantime, The rotary bug has me .....

Small world! What year & issue of Classic Ford was that? I have a pile of them in the basement. Will look it up!  :great:
Yes, I have a weakness for Anglias, too. Especially the vans. But as you say, then came the rotary experience. And I'm afraid that Japanese reliability is seriously addictive.
