Took a punt on some second hand lights off eBay that looked like the would fit the body work well.

Right shape, they’re just huge and too big for the front end

It’s like they come off Portland bills lighthouse

Ah well ya can’t win them all ......  back to the drawing board

The overall height is bigger than the space I got and the overall width means if I butt them up against the oil cooler they are wider than the wings lol

Ya have to take a stab at these things now n then, they only set me back 50 quid for the pair, I can relist them on ebay, no great shakes.

Ill just buy some round Cibie's and shape some polycarbonate covers like on the 767

Tried to save me some time..... didnt pay off this time round

Mk7 Transit of all things

Ive got a new style Mini headlight up in the loft of the garage that i bought for a bike project.

The lenses lean back nicely that may look cohesive with the wing, but the roundness of the light may screw things up .....

Thinking way in advance.....

......thought about making a tool to make my own wheel centre caps out of plastic.

The obvious choice is rotor shaped, as the car is neither Lotus or Mazda anymore.

Lay them up in GRP in a mould with black gel coat and then machine the boss on the lathe.

Couldn't think how to make the rotor shape in aluminium as I don't have a milling machine......and plastic is lighter. Colin would be so proud.

Well......... 6 weeks ago we started the diffuser ( in steel) another cock up that was...

Laid the last of the resin tonight....... complete with NACA duct to cool the diff as advised by the helpful guys on here.

Popping it out tomorrow.... the diffuser that is.

It better fit or the father in law is sacked lol

Thats enough for one day.....

..... need to shorten the silencer by another 1"  :angryfire: :angryfire: but hey ho its no biggie.

happy with the overal fit.. looks like there will be enough suspension travel for the lower arms.

Any resduial air that comes down the transmission tunnel that doesnt escape out the centre vent will pass between the top of the diffsuer and the boot floor and scoop upwards around the bumper.

Couple of tweeks required, the bolts hanging out the bottom of the diff need shortening, easy fix.

Oh and the father in law just landed an unfinished lotus 7 replica 80% complete for £600 ! :violent1: Jammy *^%$£%$^&**

busy weekend ahead.
