Jamie, before you get too far, whilst your car may be exempt due to age, it may be an idea to look up construction and use to have a look at the regs on headlamp hights from the ground. I would hate to see you design somthing and then find you cant get an Mot :(

I appreciate your concern clive

This could be a sign that headlight heights are not too critical on the uk roads lol

Change of plan

Rather working from the top down

We’re going from the ground up

The floor and ground clearance is the perfect datum

No Malcolm the splitter is not au natural lol

I’m sick of filler !!!

Can anyone think of a decent medium to use that works as well but doesn’t cost the earth ?

Tried using drywall adhesive but ironically it’s not very adhesive

The snow plough with some paint on.

In all seriousness, this isn’t actually any part of the car but shape of the air under the splitter.

Lay some glass on top of this and this will be the smooth underside of the splitter ready to start the pattern.

I still hate filler !

Had it for about 14 years, still going.

It’s not as accurate as a Colchester, travelling up n down the bed the a little backlash in the threads but it’s the old acme type. Nothing like modern cnc machine.

Jaws open to 50mm ish diameter, can fit bars hanging out the back of the chuck 25mm diameter max.

For the hobbyist on a budget it’s tip top. You get used to it’s little quirks. I can make repeatable parts within 0.01mm of each other. I don’t need tighter tolerances than that for what I use it for.

If you’ve been used to top quality machinery you may be disappointed.

Depends what you wanna use it for.... small bushes n stuff it’s great
