Update time!

The engine still smokes badly on cold start. In the process of removing engine to give to Haywards.

Meanwhile the Stagea is being used as a daily.

Hello all.

Back again.

The replacement engine has very low compression and only last just over a year. 5.8 on the front and 3.8 on the rear... Haywards are at a loss why its failed

Haywards have helped me out and are in the process of building me replacement engine for a very good price.

I'll post some pictures soon.

Going to spend a bit more time on here. RX8OC has gone to pot

It's good to see that the forum has been updated. Really easy to use and looks great

Morning all.
Been meaning to post up here for a while, life and 3 kids getting in the way.

Had a few ups and mostly downs with the car over the last year. 2 engine rebuilds later + many many many months of waiting for a replacement engine it's back on the road.

I carried out a compression test at the weekend (cold engine, yes I know) and it barely made it over 4 bar. I need to repeat with a warm engine and see if the results improve, but at least the spark plugs weren't covered in oil this time round. The engine has done around 1.4k miles and expected the compression results to be a bit than that!

So sorry to hear this Paul and unfortunately with all the issues I have seen you post up, lack of compression has obviously always been the cause.

I so hate reading about yours and other stories like yours as the Rotary just ends up with a bad name when its not actually the engine that's at fault.

I had the same happen to me last year so sadly I know how you feel.

Paul I will ask someone who is reputable if they still have an engine that I know had very very little mileage, excellent compression and had never been opened.

I will see if its still available and how much later for you.

Many thanks again Clive. I did respond to your email.
Just praying it keeps running as funds are tight at the moment
