Many thanks for the sale Paul and don't worry the prop-shafts are interchangeable.
All the best Clive

Nice!

From what I understand, you run a clutch from a 6 speed on to the flywheel designed for a 6 speed  whether it's lightened or not.

Don't put a 6 speed clutch on a 5 speed flywheel or vice versa, I think they are different sizes.

The input shaft MUST be the same as 5 speeds swaps have been done.

I can guarantee that the output shaft is the same as I plugged the 5 speed gearbox with the old carbon prop shaft to stop it losing oil while I'm storing it.

Sorry for confusing you lol

Box out. Very f*cked. Lots of play on input shaft.
Clutch is fine.
5 speed box to go on.
Half way there now

Going to need to get creative with the grinder tomorrow, the socket my neighbour gave me has metal welded on, that all needs to come off as socket won't fit on

All back together...

I prefer the 6 speed ratios. The gap between 1st and 2nd is huge...
Might get used to it.

It does pick up well though, I think the ecu is learning still as I did a reset

I dropped the idle back to 800 and its jerking about at low revs. Will be putting that back to 1k when I get home.

Going to look at fabricating an exhaust next

Maybe its something to get used to.

Most of the competition gear sets I've seen over the years calls for a really long first gear and close ratios on the rest.

Same as most sports motorcycles, they do in excess on 70mph in 1st and then its all close ratio.

I guess on the track its rare to get into first unless you're starting off.

Just give it some more beans up to the redline before you shift into second lollll

Argh bugger
Exhaust manifold has to come off by the looks of it

Ooops

not enough contact with the exhaust, summat been flexing at the weld by the looks, work hardened, and parent material failure.

All is not lost, repair the crack and put some extra webbing to spread the load and prevent it flexing around the weld.

I think it was where I slipped with the torque multiplier doing up the flywheel nut.... Doh

Quite possibly, but its not an ideal situation and could have been weakend prior to you being Popeye lol

Couple of images quickly knocked up. first is your current set up, a simple added webbing brace will prevent any further aggro

Check you out with your flashy CAD skills!
I'll see if my neighbour has any spare metal lying about in his workshop.
Cheers

Just a thought...what are your engine mounts like? If there worn or weak then that manifold  mount will acting as an engine mount too. too...worth checking...have you got ant harsh vibrations?
My exhaust is totally isolated from chassis bar 1 silencer mount bobbin.  I put a camera on exhaust shortly after build and despite solid ( landrover) engine mounts engine still moves fair bit id say 5mm til i solid mounted gearbox with again a landrover engine mount.
And whilst looking over your car at Jdm...i did noticed a lambda sensor tad close to chassis tunnel..be a good time to reposition the 02 boss.
