I'll see if I can make it. The wife is having a few heart issues at the moment + being heavily pregnant doesn't work out well.
Her heart went into 15 seconds of VF the other week. For this who know what it is, it's bloody scary!

Sorry to hear that Paul. It must be an extremely worrying time, especially with the pregnancy to complicate matters. I hope all turns out OK for your wife and the new arrival.

There's certainly a lot of bad luck going round. Got everything crossed.

On a lighter note......

You still running the 5 speeder?

Yeah. Really don't like it. Looking to replace the input shaft bearing on the 6 speed and swap the box.
The gap between first and second is huge. The other gears are a bit odd as well

Fair enough.

Maybe its an application thing. Clive swears by his.

Ill have to try both when mines finally up n running.

See which suits driving style, car weight, engine set up, etc.

Maybe. I think if I had more power it wouldn't bog when changing from 1st to 2nd so bad. It's really ruined the driving experience for me.
The lightened flywheel has probably compounded the issue.

Sounds like something else is going on as the Flywheel would only affect getting off the line not once your up n running, indeed it should help as the revs fall away fast allowing for faster gear changes.

Out of interest what diff ration does the car have because a high ratio would have the same effect. You really need a 4.4 or a 4.7 so maybe the MX-5 one is higher ?
All the best Clive

Paul_13

4.1 diff ratio - 5 speed lsd

IF you have a 4.1 diff, thats where the problem potentially lies
