Cant see anything from old photos... Rotors have lots of markings but not those which tell rear or front. I thought so too that there should be F and R. Bugger... Like I said one step forward, two steps back...

If they are a matched pair and weigh the same it will not matter if they are fitted in the front or the rear

re japi

They are stock pair, 25 grams difference

I reckon primary port are almost done. Few checks with sizes, water fill measurement, a bit polishing...

These templates opens opening side more than I thought. Makes me wonder should I open that closing side a bit further...?

So, todays progress. Finished that exhaust port. Its Pineapple 4, modified to about 4mm wider and opening opens faster...
I call it ReJapiNoF**ksGivenBigBoomEvo2... 🤷‍â™, I think Ill leave it now, Im quite happy with that...

Second pic shows how big it ia compared to stock. And template marks shows that Pineapples port..

And them, one step forward,  two steps back...

Started to do bridge port to secondary port...

I have no idea what happened. Maybe drill hopped, maybe metal was weak. But little chip broke lose and made a hole, from eye brow to seal area. (Little hole in middle)

Im sure that it can be repaired with JB Weld or stuff like that. But really made me angry...

Howerer,  in this pic, eyebrow is still raw cut. Swallowed my anger and finished that port. I think its quite good, just little finnishing needs to be done, and offcourse that secondary port needs to be ported and mached to that bridge

re japi

Got my intake ports done today. Just little finnishing more. Only one port needs to be done, second exhaust port...

Im guite happy with these. Only that chip that brake loose pisses me off, and that needs to be repair. Ordered some chemical metal stuff from ebay...

re japi

Well, I have to try I quess. Cause I think welding its much bigger risk. Might warp that iron. Ill try to do good contact area for that stuff. Me and few friends talked about this and thought that it would be best option...

I do not think Chem Metal would last 1 minute.   It is not meant for that sort of use.........just mix some up stick it on some iron/steel and heat with a blow lamp, once you see how it behaves you will realise it is not suitable.   Consult a professional welder fabricator/Toolmaker....maybe brazing would be enough?

Jarno I've no experience of this issue but i'd be dubious of using chem metal personally. Welding isn't a big risk if done properly, the usual procedure with cast is to put in in a oven first to fetch it up to temperature prior to any welding, you will want someone with a DC welder, cast rods and oven though.
At least with weld the filler will have the same expansion rates as the housing with even the best chem metal something like devcon your expansion rates are likely to be dissimilar and over such a small area mechanical bonding limited.

So sorry to see this has happened for you.

http://www.racingbeat.com/RX7-1993-1995/Porting-Tools/19994.html

I used this from Racing Beat to do somthing trick up the inside of my exhaust ports to ensure a smooth flow, but the problem with using any sort of goo is that it will have very little contact area and will probably break away.

Kev's way really is the only way.

re japi

Well, I quess it can happen to anyone...

I still dont know what happened, I quess I hitted weak point...

We have been talking about those stuff and Devcon is really good option. I already modified that area so theres quite good area to that stuff to contact. But you can never know offcourse...

Fortunately its in "cold" side of engine, so there are not that much heat expansion. But now I have think how to get that repair stick to both sides of that hole...
