So guys, went back to WGT for Pip to continue sorting out the over fuelling in the map.

Thanks to spotting it leaning out at the top range at the last session, he saved the engine. Today's mapping session confirmed the pump slipping down on the bracket was responsible for starving the injectors, so Pip finished refining the map.

We all know Pip has a safe approach to mapping rotary's, so I had no reservations letting him loose. Numerous repeatable runs prove the quality of the build.

To give the engine bit of a reprieve we agreed to only run the boost to 1.1 bar, the results, well see the graph  :D 521fwhp and 384 lbft torque!

Sounds much crisper and is much more responsive, so looking forward to using it on track and a few road trips this year (after three outings last year).

well done Chis not that i am  green but pales my 370 Bhp into insignificance  ;) ;) so glad you got her up and running

re japi

Wow! Damn. Torque kicks in 3000rpm and there is lots of that, 520NM! Finally you told us what kind of grunt your beast has, I have tryed to get that info about 4-5 years now ;)

And horses comes in quite low rpms too. Those are really nice power and torque curves! And only in 1,1 bar...

I just frickin love that car! :D

Power is nothing without control. Weight is enemy of performance, handling and braking.

re japi

Btw, can I share that pic to stupid boinker and V8 fans, just for show off what 1,3 litre can do, terms of torgue? ;)

So, getting pretty frustrated at the mo ! FD needs bodywork and respray after the accident damage last year. Took car to a body shop to look at. He gave a quote and said he'd be ready to accept the car end Feb.
Just called, he doesn't want the job now, too much work to fit skirts and rear bumper and paint to show standard !

Called another body shop who has worked on the FD in the past, he's not sure whether he wants to do the job !

What's going on...does everyone want easy insurance repair jobs ?

At least it gives me time to decide what 'look' I want for 2017. Thinking no spoilers, no canards, just sleek sexy FD style. But will it stay on the road ?

If you get stuck Chris my mate will do it and it will be perfect but quite a distance from you but could drop off after Japday?
