Arrrrrrrrrrrrrrggggggggg, just got back from being away for two days at Wheels Day and read this.

If that's the pictures of the "new" Turbo pack, boy are they junk and they could have lost the engine through overboosting looking at the state of the wastegate. 10 out of 10 for perseverance Jon

it aint a bad job if you doit logically...but access is a frikin nightmare, i have no studs or silicon pipe left. 1 stud picked up and had a nightmare with air side rear turbo flange little 10mm nut on the flange...it just went solid half way done stud. i think its tight but if i got a boost leak i know its there.

Clive,,,,thats the old 1s!...the new 1 wastgate area is fine but they smoke like a chimney....i had to put the old back on! but ive adjusted the waste gate so it shut now as its was clattering in the closed position. its mapped for 14 psi....ive seen the defi alarm flickering and seen 15psi. basically ive got 2 set of knackered turbos! lol. all i need is 1 big 1! if it aint right tomoz...im going single!

i thought the main wastegate was on the manifold? ive check that and its good!

just re read up...main wastgate in manifold and the mess is the 2nd turbo wastegate for pre spool? or 2nd turbo wastegate for boost... Dont wanna loose another engine!
the chance of finding a good set of 2nd hand tubbys is remote

sorry to hear of your woes...i know of a set of non seq turbos. i removed them for a friend who went single, i can certainly vouch they were running ok when i drove it before being removed.  If there any good to you i can ask what he wants..AFAIK he wanted 150 for them....I also know of a single turbo t04z and manifold if you want to go down that route...

Thanks bin liner. Well glad i got it back together today....its lashing it down here...still need to get underneath and check everything as was dark when i finished.
Bit stiff today my back is full on knots.
Ive been reading up on actuator functions and my wastegate flap that has the heat damage is the precontrol wastegate for prespooling the 2nd turbo....would this cause boost creep?
On the smoky turbos i had boost but traffic was so heavy and it was smoking i didnt get a decent pull up the road. Should be firing up in about an hour....now ive slept on it. Think i just wanna go single for simplicity...and reliability.

See how this goes, those crack won't cause any problems, they're just not great. Single is the way forward. Do you have updated fuel rail and injectors?

Right shes running after a few checks....and zero zilch smoke out the zorst....just got a metalic blow type noise still....not as bad as b4 but slight and difficult to determine if top or bottom...but im not going out in this weather on 888s itll be stupid to try and pull some runs itll bite me.
Well fuel system is stock...ive only swapped in a 255 in the tank and new filter.
Have a thought....if seller wants to come to a deal with me i can get partial refund on them and get them off to aet or suchlike for a rebuild...they need bearings and seal...? Run around on mine with a slight blow til there back and gives me time to source studs gaskets and silicone hose.
But he is silent on me. Ive sent him a vid as well.  My hands hurt today. Lol

That sound like a plan bud. I think there's a fuel rail and injectors set for sale for single use. Think I saw it at £400 dunno if it's was in here or fduk so that's extra cost of you were to go single, however you might be ok if you stay at low power.

However a full rebuild of the twins is probably cheaper and a good option

Yeah i seen them ebay....its the balancing....you aint goona know til full boost and the shatter.

Had a look at aet.. prob best to give em a ring. Well shes off the stands again. Just got wait on the weather and check the boost...time for a garage tidy.
