Due to the Rat Pack tribute night get together clashing with a members wedding celebrations and regular party goers attending this on the 12th December, I have now sourced a different venue and date for our Christmas get together.

I have provisionally booked 30 places at Horwood House hotel http://www.horwoodhouse.co.uk/ for our Christmas get together on Saturday 5th December

Set on 38 landscaped acres, this Edwardian country manor property is 1.1 miles from the village of Little Horwood, 7.4 miles from the Bletchley train station and 10 miles from Milton Keynes.

Please can you let me know by next Thursday 8th October if you are interested in attending as I will need to secure the booking.

Horwood House has a fond place in my memory as I arrived there as a fresh-faced youngster in 1973 to sign on a s a "Post Office Student" when the place was run as the "College of Engineering Studies" by Post Office Telecoms (now BT of course). I stayed there for several week long periods throughout 1973- 1974 and it was my first taste of spending time away from home before I went to Uni in 1974. No car in those days either!

I've only been back once since, to a 30 year reunion (2003) of the group of 18 of us who met there on Sept 17th 1973.

I wonder if they've still got the full size snooker table in the basement

Neil's currently away with work but I'm sure he'll be up for this. So I only have three Christmas parties this year and looks like they are all back to back, with this one being the last. How will I cope??
