An opportunity to show just how fast your car really is on this combined trackday and sprint event!

I helped organise the first ever RX8OC competitive event, a sprint, at Woodbridge back in March 2015. I thoroughly enjoyed it, as did everyone I spoke to at the time. Many said they'd like to do something like it again, plus there has been some additional interest expressed in sprints events on a couple of RX8OC and MRC threads.

So, I had a chat with Nick Dougill of Mazdaontrack he has agreed to lay on this event for us.

So, rather than just brag about how fast your car is, here is your chance to prove it against the clock Pit your RX against other RX's  (and other cars that will be there) to see just how good your package is!

It will NOT be an exclusive "Mazda RX" club event (we won't get the numbers to make it work), but the more cars we get, the more exclusive it will be, if you get my "drift"   

The circuit looks like this, and takes about 60-75 seconds to complete from a standing start;



Details of the event:
DATE: Saturday, 19 September
VENUE: Blyton Park, Lincs
FORMAT: Morning, full Open Pitlane "Practice". Afternoon, timed sprint runs, with prizes.
COST: £149, BUT discounted to £139 (PM Casey for code)
NOISE: The usual trackday limit of 105dBA (static), plus a drive-by limit at 20m of 95dBA
REQUIREMENTS: Usual trackday rules for cars; helmets and long sleeved clothing.
PASSENGERS: Permitted in the morning, but not in the afternoon sprint runs.
EXTRA DRIVERS: £119, they will get the same number of runs in the sprint as all other drivers.

Nick Dougill called me this morning to say it's 95% this is a "goer". He's had a lot of interest from the MX5Nutz forum and so it might well be a mostly Mazda day!

  Oh yes, trophies are to be awarded at this event, which is was CONFIRMED this afternoon

Published price is £149 (including the £5 one-day competition license) BUT FULL MRC members can PM me for a discount code which will reduce the price to £139  The code is only valid for bookings made before the end of June.

So, get booking, this will be a fun day with the added "edge" of competition and bragging rights up for grabs

There are quite a few MX-5's (inc some s/c and turboed versions) and a smattering of other cars so far signed up.
