not a happy bunny....all the managers at are place get secret pay rises and 50 of us 2nd class scum on the shop floor actually doing the work get a 4.5% pay cut..RAAAA

company director got 15% to swell his salary to a whopping £233312.00!  in 2013 according to company house!

sorry not the place for this but takes 1400 odd pound out of my shift worker maintenance engineer salary which after normal peoples expenditure on mortgages etc dont leave alot left for the fun things in my life like my Rotarys!...

fact of life i suppose FAT CATs at the top.

time for a new job.

How can you possibly complain...the poor devil hasn't had a pay rise in two years and £233K doesn't buy much these days.  Come on now get back up that chimney and there'll be a warming measure of gruel for you when its swept clean...well for whichever one of you gets to the bowl first.  We welcome your feedback on this new, non-executive, incentive programme.

Thats the accounts for 2013....when the accounts for 2014 are published ill buy them....and will see if we are being fed BS....my head is in the crosshairs somewhat. Fat Cats fingers are too fat to pull the trigger though.  I pointed out his payrise surrended for a year could save our paycut....

Sorry to hear it, nothing that stops rotary related fun is good :(

The trouble is as well since management discovered the wonders of the % with rises the gap increases year on year too.

I got off the shop floor and do an office job (design and development engineer) so at least I'm not at the bottom of the pay scale.

Just don't understand how somebody is worth money like that. Although we where once told our owners could only give us a couple of % raise and the man right at the top (way, way way where the air is thin) was on an 8 figure salary that would make some football teams feel hard done by (was over $50m a year).

Um, I´m not sure did I understand that correctly... So they took 4% off from your paycheck????
WTF??? At that point I would be stabbing people ;)

I have never understood how world works like that...

For example: Few years ago U.S. guy was choose to run Nokia phones corporation. I was at that job few years. Only thing he did was nail in the coffin and Nokia died basically. He left the company and got trillionbillionmillions when he left. How is that possible...?

Yep 4.25% PAYCUT. Voted on it yesterday....if vote is a no then 90 days notice to cut at 6.5 %. Bit complicated but these are contractual fringe benefits are where being blackmailed to have them stripped from our contracts.

Pay cuts = less work
Paycuts = anger
Pay cuts = fat cats tyres getting let down everyday until something more fun like pouring sugar down the petrol cap becomes more appealing etc etc

Shit rolls down the hill, the rich get rich the poor get poor.

That usually just means your yearly unauthorised sick day entitlement is awarded another fortnight.

Seriously though that sucks balls to take money from people especially as they have recently just proven the cost of living rises far outweighs pay rises.

well I know what I would do I would work out how much time that is worth and take a longer tea brake a few sickeys days for long weekends to do your hobby and when ask to do them a favour say no favours any more show me the money or ask some one else MATE I had the best day of my life 3 years ago when I walked in to a mangers meeting told them they were all wankers I handed my notice in and made sure all my training aids had been shredded thay ended up getting four people to do my job for 7 months that fucckeed there budget lol

ps two of the managers lost there jobs as well when I told HR head office that I was going to take them to court for harassment , bulling and intimidation, I got a years severance but I had made my mind up to leave anyway so ended being a bonus

I'm my experience, at both ends. For you i would suggest you don't throw your toys out to much, ei sick days, creating an awkward working environment. A quiet chat with your manager, explain your situation, explain you will be looking for a new job shortly (you want a good reference esp if you have been there a while!) keep working well. you may find things change when request for references come in!

From a cooperate point of view hiring new staff is costly (we negotiate at about 15% of a yearly wage with recruiters)  also there is an inherent risk of the replacement being shit! - so you going is going to cost them money and time!

Have a look at end of years figures, has the company done well as a whole? have certain areas of the business done well whereas yours hasn't?

Ultimately its all about you value yourself and how much your company value you, perhaps you could reach an agreement with targets, ei exams, increasing your expertise etc.

Also as i have heard my boss say to a few people "don't like it,  leave!"

Yes nearly put my notice in friday with no where togo ...went out for lunch today and bumped into an old boss who said "give me a ring when you get back from hols Jon we have a vacancy and will go from there"  Just what i needed.  Nobody where i am at mo seems to have any fight in them and the japanese have a saying the nail that sticks out gets hammered ( tokyo drift). Find summit else and give them the bird on leaving day.

Sometimes things like this can actually be a blessing and enable you to go onto better things.

All well that ends well. Like most things something usually comes along sooner or later. Sooner in your case! As I said always good leave on good terms, never know what will be round the corner and who may be in the position to recommend/offer you the position.

That being said I have worked with some right ***** I never want to lay eyes on again!
