Hey guys,

Need your suggestions for brake upgrades.

Any other kits that bolt straight on?

Pads/Disc choices.

What\'s your thoughts?

Edit: I\'ve heard EBC Greens to be good as Pads. and Someone on here recommended a braided brake line maker, think it might have been Prof. If anyone knows of a good one please share the info :)

I would say Hawks HPS over EBC.
I think MRP can also get you some Braided brake hoses from Racing Brake.

Fully Bridgeported 231ps RX-8 stripped for the Track
2nd Gen RX-7 TurboII on a GT35r (show winner)

I\'m not sure on kits etc but can say for certain my advice is to make sure you treat the rears as much as the fronts. You want to target keeping the brake balance the same or you will effectively worsen your braking ability.

Say you put a 4 pot 330mm setup on the front and then use the same compound pads front to rear without changing the rear setup you will probably end up doing virtually no braking with the rear wheels at all and overall you will be reducing your braking capacity quite a lot.

I know this as my car had a setup like this when I got it which when I changed it, actually by putting very aggressive rear pads on, I found I could brake much later and with the added bonus that the fronts also stay a lot cooler are taking a lower share of the load per lap.

hi m8 im running  355mm D2 8pots on the fronts & 320mm 4pot hispec on th rears with ds2500 all round as used as std by ap racing brake kits! but a cheaper option would b to buy a good set of grooved discs, braided brake lines  good ridge or hel, & ferodo ds2500 pads all round which r far superior to hawk or ebc pads!

I\'ll definitely be getting braided lines but if I can make them myself would be a lot cheaper.

So, Ferodo or Hawk? What do you guys use them for?

And good shout on doing the whole lot Najiru, I will be, I imagine I\'m going to get a disc failure on the MoT.

I was looking the Willwood mounting bells to give me more options for discs. Anyone had an experience with these?

definitely ferodo ds2500 over hawk hp+,  if ap racing use them as std in the kits then its a no brainer!  plus hawk pads r well known to squeak like a :censored::censored::censored::censored::censored: even after being used for 2000 miles & it was doing my head in so much I swapped them back to std especially after the police stopped me & thought I had :censored::censored::censored::censored:ed brakes !

I have grrooved discs up front and MRC supplied me with racing brake break pads all round. I noticed the difference right away once I changed the pads out. And for track they are so much better.
