Hi Mark,

Great to see another of the last FD\'s is going to be on the road here:Thumbs-up

Never done the import thing so hopefully somebody will come along with help.

If not, has the car been SVA\'ed ?

If not I would find you local goods vehicle test centre that carries out SVA\'s , walk in and ask the questions you need answering
All the best Clive

Real shame they shut all the local dvla offices. You could pull a number wait in line and a friendly persons would talk you through it all!

If you ring dvla dont follow any prompts for pressing numbers just stay online and youll be answered by a human very quickly!:Thumbs-up

fill out the best you can then you\'ll most likely need the info from the SVA for co and hc readings etc.

cant remember what exactly was needed, else when you take car to be sva then they can send off for you also for a small fee. was a geed few years since i did this :/
2 doritos on a stick woohoo :rollin

hi guys thanks for the replies, i\'ve seen on the internet that as its over ten years old it doesn\'t need a SVA or a IVA but just a MOT (thats part of my confusion). it is a shame the dvla local offices have shut as that was my next move.

As for the car its completely stock 2002 in blue just what ive always wanted and cant wait to get it on the road in the uk it took a while to get, it will have to go to rotorstock at some point.

Ok, the V55 is easy.  The trick is, you don\'t have to fill in the bits you don\'t know.

I didn\'t import my current FD myself, but looking at the V5, the following are blank:
type (variant/version), suspension type, max power, all the weights, sound levels, all the emissions numbers.

Engine number is \'NOT KNOWN\', although the VIN is present.

BTW - don\'t forget to fill in cylinder capacity as \'1300cc\' if you want to try for cheap tax ;)

Looking at the pic of the form which you posted, I think the following fields can be left blank: 1, 6, 12, 13, 14, 15, 16, 17, 19, 20, 21, 22, 23, 24, 25, 26, 28, 32, 24, 25, 26, 27, 28, 29, 30, 41, 42, 43, 44, 46.

Hopefully the notes they provide will explain what to fill in for any of the other ones that aren\'t obvious.

If it\'s not been MOT\'d yet then you will need to fit a foglight and do that before applying to register the car.  (You\'re right that as it\'s >10 yrs old you don\'t need SVA or anything).

thanks a lot samoht thats what i needed to know :) awesome.  when i get it im gonna try and change one of the reverse light to a fog light i think i can find a guide on the web somewhere lol

jinx

As it is a late car with the round lights you can wire the mandatory fog switch to one of the two brake lights.  Switch=off - two brake lights each side. Switch = on - two brake lights one side and one fog/one brake light the other.  Mine is wired that way and has passed every MOT without comment.
