I have no OMP and just use a branded 2 stroke at 100:1, I\'ve used shells own, castrol etc and I\'ve never had any issues and it certainly gets some stick so 100:1 is fine I think.

That\'s the stuff..
I got mine the other week. Not stuck it in yet as I am doing other jobs on the car at present!

Najiru.. Do you get any plume or smoke at low load/idle with that mix ratio?

najiru

No, nothing visible in terms of plume etc

Well still doing my research and read up a lot of oil specification.

Api and Jaso are the 2 main accreditation boards and FD is the highest jaso acred. The valvoline stuff above is FB!

ive searched the other accreditations and RP a747 etc cant find the accreditation on the RP but can on the A747.  Jaso FD. Idemetsu is jaso FC.

That exol stuff is Jaso FD...so according to net its the up there with the best .

I\'m new to all this but to ask, what situation would you see it fit to remove the OMP completely and use pre-mix instead? Someone previously mentioned ECU control so would that mean you could use an aftermarket ECU to better control the amount of oil used via the OMP?

Tell me if I\'m talking absolute Horlicks :D

I don\'t know that there is a point you see fit to remove the factory OMP. In my case the aftermarket ECU cannot control the OMP so I either have to premix oil in the fuel or get a stand alone controller. At least with pre-mix you know exactly what you are getting.
Other people choose to run separate oil tanks in conjunction with the OMP so you are injecting clean oil instead of dirty sump oil.

Hope that helps.
