I´m back home again :( First, thanks Clive and Lisa for organizing event. And I want to thank everybody in UK for their hospitality. (and apologize my english ;)

Weather, we just cant choose it. And as I was saying, we came to Uk to cool down ;) And it didnt bother me. And I didnt see mr and mrs feed complaining ;)

For me, Rotorstock isnt a car show. Its place to learn, see amazing people with stunning rotarys, make contacts and new friends. But once again, so little time, so much to talk about. It really was awesome to finally meet people like boosted, casey, mr and mrs feed, James and other great people. And that dude with those stunning bikes! And it was really nice to talk again with old friends too...

As for that "main event", those organizers did a dirty thing. They cant just change the date if they wants to! Besides, I dont want to see some crap old v8´s, I can see them enough in back home! ;)

As for Rotorstock, I have plenty of room for more "souvenirs" in my body :D

This is the first rotorstock I didn\'t come to in all the 11 years it has been on. Unfortunately my car still is off the road and the weather looked terrible.

The trouble is the community is getting smaller too. I was at Tatton Park with the VW show on the sunday and it was massive with mainly NW VW\'s and there where thousands of people there. Something we could just dream about. Even got sun burnt !

Yes i have great memories of Rotorstock, won a trophy myself of being the fastest at one of them.

Myself I never really go to static events, but I have attended all Rotorstock events since its inception bar this year

The fact is Japanese owners in general have gone off drag racing and track racing their own cars, partly due to costs, the culture to drive them hard on track has diminished.

Take Japshow this year for example, FDUK had a huge turnout...very few took them up the strip, even the other car clubs didnt really take their cars out on the strip, plus it was quietest as a whole that Japshow has been for years!

Put simply you need younger people to come into the Japanese car culture to keep it going but sadly youngsters cant afford these Japanese cars anymore, costs have risen, so they stick to the much cheaper Euro makes to modify, hence why VW and Ford shows are massive.

Youngsters in general are having a hard time, I remember the local bars and clubs were bristling wityh young people, now the bars are clubs are slowly shutting, they simply cant afford to go out.

Their is no solution until the economy and cost of living changes..so for the time being RIP Japanese car culture

Well, despite the weather I had a great time admiring the cars (and bikes!) and chatting to like minded rotary enthusiasts. We may not have had a huge turnout, but the range and quality on display was excellent. Lots of familiar faces and great to meet some new ones too. Good to meet for the first time; re-japi (your english is VERY good btw!), plus his wife and daughter, James Wilday, Feed addict (plus "his misses" and dog :)), noop (with his recently acquired 7), Elektix, and a few others too. The enthusiasm for their cars (and bikes!) from everyone I spoke to was great to experience and share.

Thanks again to Clive and Lisa for organising this event, and all the Rotorstocks to date, most of which I\'ve attended since turning up to help setup for RS3 in a wet and muddy field in 2006 :Laugh. Sorry to hear it will be the last, but I fully understand that, with dwindling attendances, it is inevitable.

Was a rather wet day but was good fun despite it. Sadly we weren\'t able to stay that long (due to a rather wet wife lol who was suffering a bit). We deffently make it again but plan a bit better, it was a bit of a last second deceision this year and we could have made a weekend of it.

Managed to put on 420 miles on the engine putting it over 1k, so not long till fun time :)

Just like to add my thanks to Clive and Lisa for RS11 and previous RS events over the years.
As I said to Clive when I arrived on Saturday, come rain or shine, I will always go to RS as it has always been the best place to not only see awesome rotarys, but to learn about them face to face with you guys. Something that is slightly missing when reading techy write-ups on forums, no passion!
I do think that RS events did play a big part in making me want a rotary originally. Quite incredible the effect of seeing a car "in the metal" so to speak.
Thanks also to those who went on Saturday, great to see your cars and to chat.
Arnie O- still loving the Fc, great motivation for mine.
Mr Foggy- always enjoy a chat.
Daston- love the car, and to talk to a new owner.
Clive- the bumper looked even better after I got home.

Long live Rotorstock! :WaveBye

I just wanted to also say a huge thank you to Clive and Lisa for organizing the last Rotorstock and for staying positive throughout the day despite the weather and the turnout.

From experience from running my own Club for the past 12 years sometimes the only thing that Club members have in common is the fact that they own similar vehicles and therefore don\'t necessarily feel the need to socialize or celebrate the one thing that brought them together in the first place, even if just in cyberspace. So it\'s not surprising that over time, as a community shrinks and perhaps the more active members move on to pastures new (splinter clubs), there are less people showing up at events.

I think it also doesn\'t help the fact that rotaries are currently not in production and perhaps there will be a resurgence in interest if and when the new RX7 ever makes it into the real world. Then maybe there will be a collective desire to bring back Rotorstock to showcase the evolution of the Mazda Rotaries from their inception to the present day.

Who knows? In the meantime we can only work with what we have and make the most of it.

For me one of the positives from Saturday was the fact the Noop was a relatively new FD owner. I choose to give it the meaning that the rotary scene in the UK isn\'t dead, just more exclusive and for the discerning and elusive driver who likes something out of the ordinary  ;-)

The other positive was catching up with people that I hadn\'t seen in a while as well as meeting some for the first time. It\'s always lovely. Unfortunately the slowest waiters in the world meant that Aston and I spent most of the afternoon waiting for our food and missed out on the opportunity to talk to everyone who was there. Apologies for that and hopefully we\'ll correct this the next time we all happen to be in the same place again.

Until then...  I\'ll be seen (online) but nor heard.  :Typing

Sadly I couldn\'t make it - but I think with the economy the way it is many people are taking a long hard look at what they travel to etc.

I wonder if there is more scope to run this sort of event every other year or something?

I\'m sorry I didn\'t make it, Rotorstock has always been good fun.  Unfortunately my rotary is off the road still and I had other commitments this weekend.  I do agree with Clive about the unfortunate nature of a lot of the RX8 owning community though and their lack of track use be it drag or circuit.

Apparently putting details of your car spec in your signature means the nice folks on exile-rotorsport think you\'re a fool.  I can think of no higher compliment!

I do understand that nowadays money is the issue. And as you said, lack of cars. But its really sad to see RotorStock end, even though I have been only two of them. I was hoping to come few more. I talked to Lisa about the future of these events. Hopefully RS will continue, in some format.

Clive and Lisa has put huge amount time and effort to this. So thank you. As few of you said, we dont deserve it,just because of our actions(or lack of them).

But same thing is happening here in Finland too. Lack of spectators and people to attend in different events. Really hard to get people to attend...

Btw Crissy, I really enjoyed to chat with you. :)

And I talked to few people about my and my brothers projects. Please go take a look and share your opinions and thoughts. :) they are here in MRC called "finnish race car project" and "new life for 12a". We are basically newbies in rotary scene so every comment and thought is much appresiated ;)

Oh, and Mrs. Feed, looking forward to see you wooping boys arses with your beast ;)

Until we meet again

Firstly sorry I couldn\'t support Rotorstock this year by attending, I have been to most (if not all?) of the previous Rotorstock events.  It is very sad if this year\'s is the last one, maybe Rotorstock can be resurrected for the 50th anniversary of the first Mazda rotary, the Cosmo/110S, in 2017?

gixergirl777

I\'m sad to hear that this was the last Rotorstock. And sorry I couldn\'t make it but I managed to break my wrist so i\'m hoping i\'ll be forgiven. Driving the RX4 is kinda out atm.

Car culture is a funny old thing. I\'ve chatted to Clive about it but I used to do RX7 club stuff back in the pre-internet days (feeling old now!) and I was definitely in a minority for wanting to get my RX7 on track or talk about what the engine could achieve. But that was many years ago and over that time the culture did change, more rotaries got on track, prejudice against them became less and more people wanted to own one, maybe it\'s peaked for now but don\'t lose heart, the culture will shift again soon and a new and exciting era will dawn instead.

Thanks to Clive and Lisa for everything they have done over the years, there\'s a lot that\'s been achieved thanks to them.

Many thanks for the "thank you" posts, it is appreciated, however it\'s Rotary enthusiasts like the people on this thread who made all the previous Rotorstocks happen and showed people your great cars, not us, as we have seen over the last two years without many people like you Rotorstock would never have happened in the first place.

Looking forward, if Rotarystock in the  Netherlands happens again next year we already have people who want to go there, so this would mean something proper Rotary would at least happen.
All the best Clive
