Since im quite a new owner of the rx7 and have completely standard alloys i\'ve been trying to investigate what wheels are available for my fd. After a week of struggling finding what wheels are available for the fd that i like and are available in wider options i thought i would start this thread !

Please can people post what wheels they have (photo as well if possible). What size they are, what width tyres you have fit and what the offsets are. Any comment on quality of grip and ride would be great !

Has anybody got the racing hart alloys on their fd, if they make them for an fd !

As i said i have the standard fd alloys, with 225 width on front and back.

Hi Sean,

You can get Racing Hart for the FD3S, up to 10" wide 18\'s on the rear but they are not cheap.

Not an FD but here are mine, Advan Oni\'s.

17 inch - not sure on off sets.  Running with Dunlop formula R tyres - well grippy in the dry.

Mine came with 18 * 8.5 ET39 and 18 * 9.5 ET43 Mazdaspeed wheels. Tyres are 225/40 18 and 275/35 18 Bridgestones.

The ride is really rather poor, good grip in the dry, but virtually none whatsoever in the wet!

The front\'s will *just* touch the arch liners on hard turn and compression, such as turning into an uneven parking space

I could be wrong but I really don\'t think they are Mazdaspeed wheels. If they are ive never seen them. They are however Volk alloys, Volk make Mazdaspeed alloys but id say they just have a MS stiker put on them.

Nice wheeks all the same. :)

J4P RX

They are Volk Racing CV Pro.  I have 8 of em!

Thanks for the clarification. They have Mazdaspeed on them, but could well have been produced by Volk. The Centrecaps have RAYS on them.

Silly question (OK embarassing question!)- do the centrecaps lever off? They seem very tight and didn\'t want to move. Thing is I need to replace those Bridgestones shortly....

J4P RX

Volk make the Mazdaspeed wheels anyway, but they are not Mazdaspeed.  they are just CV Pros, but a very close design to the Mazdaspeed wheel.

You should have a centre cap remover to get the middle off, like a but nut.  Mine was just in with the jack and stuff in the boot which was nice.  If this fails, or doesnt get them off a big adjustable thing does the trick.

Those big nuts are hard to get off if you go for a dyno day matey

My Mazda speed alloys are just about to go for refurb. Where can I get the stickers to replace originals.

Are MS-02 alloys made by Volk too then ? They have RAYS on the centre cap and on the text between the studs.

Only seen three other cars with these on but one was black and silver, one was silver and silver. I guess there are some more around though, one in Lincoln from another post I think.

I have a set of Volk Racing GT-7\'s

43 offset front and rear
8 x 18 inch front, 9 x 18 inch rear (would have liked an extra half inch on both)
Tyres are 235/40 x 18 and 265/35 x 18

Nice and light, only rub on mega compression circuits, lots of grip on Dunlop formula R tyres.

Vok/Rays are the same people.  I think the proper name is Rays Engineering, with Volk being a subrand.

They actually make a lot of the Japanese wheels.
