losing the will to live at the moment can someone  shed some light on the alternator?? race an fd3s bottom line is have a Denso alternator that i have just got rebuilt with a new rectifier fitted i had it rebuilt as it was pushing 15volts out of it , anyway would appear i have wired the wires originally wrong on my dash as the alternator light always was on never bothered me until now and the rectifier was not controlling the voltage correctly ,  so my simple question is how do i wire it so that the light goes out  when it is charging... the original loom has gone as dont run a standard dash anymore and now run

blimey at the end of the day it only 2 wires  white and green and white black i just cant seem to get it to work properly
can anyone shed some light please

clive

I have been through this with my own car,

You need to draw more than 5 amps through the lamp  to trigger the regulator into action

One wire will go to the lamp and the other to a 12v feed

Hope this helps

Literally any lamp that takes a 5 watt bulb will do it (sorry meant to say 5 watt above not amps)

The original one was 3w in the user manual that was in the dash (just done the same trick to my car for the car rewire !)

Should it be 5w ?

I\'ve just put a w3w bulb in line and run a 12v feed to the other side. Pip said without it you would either get no charge or charge all the time.
