Need Help On Oil Please!

Hi guys,

I have a 96 fd, with power fc, v mount, jasma cat back exhaust, on 99spec twin turbos. I am tracking the car on monday at bedford (dont know if anyone from here will be there) but i need to know what oil to use, ive been recommended 10w40semi, but dont know for sure of what brand and if that will be okay. Its going to be my first trackday so im kind of scared because i dont want anything to go wrong. And if it does because of oil then that will annoy me even more! So please let me know what you guys run on track and what works. Also do power fcs reset if the battery has been disconneted for a long time?

Id give Clive a ring at mazda Rotary Parts mate he can advise you and supply next day...also are you running premix, might be worth getting some 2 stroke oil for the day .

Okag will give him a call tomorrow, also no i dont run premix and dont know the actual mix, sorry im a beginner lol. But will ring him tomorrow and will let you know how i got on.

Basically you add a small amount of 2stroke oil in fuel tank with the fuel 50 to 1 this is injected with your fuel and lubricates the apex seals.

Okay what 2stroke can i use? It doesnt reduce the life off the apex seals does it? Also what oil do i use then?

Speak to clive tomoz he will have suitable engine oil filter and 2t premix oil.

99% sure you wont lose map with turning power off.my fd went flat a few times and never lost settings.

just wanted to let you know I was recommended 10w30 min or 10w40 min/semi syn by Clive so going to stick to 10w40 semi.
