Hello,

I have a leaking secondary rail, leaks where the injector plugs into the rail.
From googling i\'d hazard a guess that the O ring is possible gone (injectors only covered about 1000 miles from new).

To fit 1680cc injectors into an oem secondary rail, is the injector hole bored out? any other work involved to fit 1680cc injectors?

Reason for asking this is that im thinking instead of it being a problem with the O ring, it could be the rail was bored out badly, if it is just bored out to fit larger injectors.

Can anyone confirm regarding the boring out of the rail to fit larger injectors?

if it is that then i\'m guessing i\'m in need of a new rail instead of O rings?

Just to confirm, to take out the secondary rail i\'ll have to take off the UIM? Would the UIM gasket need to be replaced to can be reused? Only covered about 500 miles since rebuild with new gasket i believe.

Lastly where to buy new O rings / rebuild kit for injectors? (hoping wont need to do that.)

Thanks :Thumbs-up

I assume we are talking TII
from my look in to this stuff (and eventual expensive lessons) there are two rails. One is tubular steal I suspect and cannot be made to fit 14mm injectors and the other is from what I understand cast aluminium and I assume can as you say be bored out.

Who did the upgrade on the rail?

I would not have thought your o rings would have gone already if they are only 1000 miles old.
It\'s possible you could have a leak due to the holes being bored.

Pop the rail off and take a look at the holes.
I know rails like those from KG Parts use a 13.5mm bore (as I have both FC and FD versions and have measured them)

So I would measure the bore too.

May be a long shot but an option may be to source some larger fuel resistant o rings in the hope it seals.

I have also read of people smoothing the inside of the holes in the rail out using 400grit wet\'n\'dry

Hope this all helps

Stock rail can be modded to take 1680cc injectors, the injector holes need to be modded slightly and the fuel pressure taken out and the rail welded up in the right place.
New O ring should fix the issue if they are leaking from there.
We warranty our rebuilt engines for Detonation, track day\'s and RWYB and NOW for 30 months which is two and half years or 30,000 miles
We also build all types of race or road engines.
We build race and track cars too.
Any kind of porting undertaken.
Single turbo conversions.

I shall bow to Carls superior know how

Are you saying even the tubular rail can be modded?

Thanks Arnie & Carl :)

Yes TII talk here.

"the injector holes need to be modded slightly and the fuel pressure taken out and the rail welded up in the right place."

Hot to take fuel pressure out and where does the rail need to be welded?

I think best measure the bore of mine before i order anything.

Carl out of curiosity, would you be able to do the above to a used rail so i can just swap, bolt in and go (so to speak)? and cost?

Thanks
