Hey folks,

Some of you will probably have seen my FC project, well i got offered a really good deal from a friend and now i have an FD project as well :)

When i got the car it was all in bits so was another rx7 jigsaw puzzle but the majority of the parts were there to get it back on the road but needed some new paint

so when got her back home

so stripped her down and got her ready for painting

the body has all steel wide arches, burnout style
and lots of bits have been smoothed, wing vents, reflectors, indicators, even fuel cap
genuine burnout front bumper
full air suspension setup
riverside wheels
standard twin turbo
kakimoto exhaust
hks filters
jdm ecu

its going to be used as a nice daily car that isnt to harsh on the senses, will update more later :)

TiddlesRX7

Nice mate. Will keep an eye on this for updates.

Ade
I don\'t need to upgrade my stock turbo to beat your ass!

Get your finger out, get it on the road and start driving it then!!! (B.Martin 25/2/12)

Timmyc

well the project is well underway so will update very soon :)

Daston

Looks like a good start. Any ideas on colour etc?

Timmyc

Yeah I know what colour its going but will wait to reveal :-)

The car went in to get sprayed a while ago and got some snaps when it was primed

nadz

Keep it red they look sexy in red with the burnout kit.

CTworkinprogress

Looks like a nice project.  Good job cracking on with it.

So wheres the fuel filler now? Boot?

Col

Timmyc

Nah not going red, had red cars before and always wanted an fd in the colour im doing it

Thanks man :-) the fuel filler is actually behind the n/s/r light :-/ going to relocate it to the left boot cubby using something like an aftermarket mk2 escort filler and route the breather for the tank somewhere else to minimise fuel smell

Timmyc

So this was the engine when I got it

After a bit of tinkering it looks like this

I have a spare to4r single turbo setup that I am soooo tempted to put on, but im going to stick with the twins for now as ive never driven one on twins before and I want to try keep it kinda sedate, but in the future I have no doubt it will get fitted :-)

CTworkinprogress

That engine looks better.  Stock or ported?

Nice idea on the fuel filler, get some pics up when you do it, or I`ll just have a nosey sometime.

Mmmm I love the T04R.  great tub kit.  Not many people have a "spare" knocking about.  You can have a "sedate" single you know...LOL

Keep the updates coming.

Timmyc

Yeah cadburys purple :-) stock ports

yeah will get some photos up when its done, giving the tank a blast with some stone guard and paint whilst I have it out to clean the crap fuel out of it

Yeah I know I upgraded my fc to a ta45 on a bp engine so thats how it came to be spare lol

You dont build a single setup to be sedate tough :-)

I have been thinkin about rhe burnout bumper and not sure if I liked it? As I dont have the burnout skirts I thought I would try some bits together and see what they look like,

Re amemiya facer n1style front bumper with canards

Feed style skirts
Re amemiya style rear diffuser
Vortex generators
Carbon exhaust guard

In my mind they will all work with the arches and come together nicely but we will see

Also removed the air suspension struts and fitted koni coilovers until I figure out the wiring for the air setup

Also got an mph customs (i believe) carbon bonnet, might look okay, might look crappy, will wait and see :-)

nadz

Engine looks great. If you decide to sell the burnout bumper ill take it as a spare for mine.

Timmyc

It\'ll be for sale if the re amemiya bumper fits alight

Well after waiting a while I got the shell back :-D

Heres how she looks now  :-)

So once I had it back I put the engine in but only onto the splines of the gearbox and resting on the mounts as im waiting for some bolts

Will update again soon :-)

fil_auto

Wow, looks like you\'ve been busy, coming along great... look forward to seeing the finished article :)

Timmyc

Yeah trying to get as much done as possible, me too, the hold up is giing to be getting the other parts back from the painter I think :-(
