Calling all Rex genii
I need a little help identifying what has happened to the car I am in the process of buying and would be grateful if the seasoned Rex guru’s could help identify some of the parts fitted to this car. So far I have been told it is a ’94 Jap import. It has had an Engine rebuild by WGT in the UK and was also mapped with an APEXi PFC:
Complete car:

Exhaust

I am a little concerned about all the disconnected pipes et cetera in the engine compartment and would really like to know what mods have been carried out.
Is it possible to tell if it is a Jap import or UK car?
It has compartments in the rear; is it possible to convert this to rear seats? If so is it a bolt on exercise?
Any help much appreciated guys;-)

car is almost certainly a jap import. disconnected plugs and pipes are all airpump related - not really important at all and can be removed completely.
exterior parts - re-amemiya ad sideskirts, re-amemiya low level wangan spoiler, stout bonnet, re-amemiya mirrors, veilside d1gt front bumper, re-amemiya spats, mazdaspeed wheels.

under the bonnet - re-amemiya filter, hks hard pipes, ARC stock mount intercooler, unknown brand catch can.

interior - cage looks to be cusco/safety devices

suspension looks to be tein flex

rear seats can be retro fitted however there are no mounting points for the clips that hold the back rest in place (assumng this car came from factory with bins)

Bloody hell Ad4m1, have you played this game before or something:Thumbsup! The only thing you left out was the exhaust by the looks of things.
You mention \'re-amemiya\' quite a few times; is this a reputable company/good quality?

ad4m1

re-amemiya stuff is generally good quality and sought after so no problems there. The exhaust could be one of many that look like that so I didnt bother to hazard a guess. If I was to guess I would say HKS. if you want to confirm if its a jap import or not, you can look at the chassis number stamped on the bulkhead. If it starts with FD3S and then about 7 numbers then its a jap import. If it starts with a J and a load of numbers and letters then its a UK. There were only ever 124 UK cars though and most of them contain more iron oxide than good metal.

I had a little look earlier, the alternator and what looks like an idler pulley is also driven off the same belt as this airpump. If the airpump was removed completely I\'m guessing a different lenght belt would then be required? Also there still looks like one hose/pipe is still connected to this airpump (the lower one); could this then also be removed?
