is the wear on these plates necessary to get lapped or should i scrap them??

I was Under the Impression any scoring in the Scrapper ring track is bad news.

They are some plates iv had in the shed from an engine we got for spares, the rotors were odd in it, one had 2mm grooves and the other rotor has 3.5 mm apex grooves!! Not 3 actually 3.5!!

I think the e shaft is the only thing that\'s not bad. Might get my dad friend to lap them, see how they come out, it will be free. If they\'re still crap I might have a dabble at some bridge porting:)

Grizzly

:) sounds a bit random.

Have another question which keeps popping up....

I am about to replace all my Rotor/Stat Bearings etc, i have been told from a "Good" Source that to do it properly i need to buy the Tightest Bearings i can lay my hands on, fit them and then clearance to the e-shaft with a Lathe.

Sound about right? or a Bit excessive?

Grant Monkhouse

Who\'s the good source?

Aren\'t there tolerances that Mazda give for bearing etc? As there are a number of different sizes? I\'m sure there\'s a thread somewhere about bearings and stat gears

Have a look in this thread http://www.mazdarotaryclub.com/forums/showthread.php?t=61631&highlight=shaft&page=2 there\'s some measurements to check on the eshaft to select bearing size.

Machining bearings down is ok but I\'d rather use something that is right without machining. I suppose it depends on what your using the motor for, high boost or high rpm?

Hehe. I don\'t doubt for a Minute he does it on every Race motor if you met Rick you would know his attention to detail is beyond fanatic and his workshop is a Museum of Racing Rotary\'s, but still it might be a little ott for a road car.
