Are they running a 20B billet engine? I remember seeing the pictures of the 13B billet engine

12at

colum

they ran billet, then didnt, now back to billet again

Grant Monkhouse

Will they even be running cooling with the billet? I wouldn\'t have though too much need for it running methanol. I remember mazfix crashing the car last year! Sure it went onto the roof.

How\'s your rx8 coming along Colum?

colum

gathering dust while i collect bits and sort other cars/motors, its not really a priority at the moment tbh

Grant Monkhouse

Cars are never a priority, especially the ones that are your own. I\'m sure it will be finished before you know it. It will be nice to see it running, hopefully in the 8 second zone;)

colum

im hoping we get robs deep into the 8\'s this year, mine will run what it runs, the liberty should help me though

Grant Monkhouse

Be good to see rob running 8s and consistently which is the main thing.

Has the car been running up on the dyno yet? To get the time closer to racing setup?

colum

nothing has changed since last year apart from a clutch and a gearbox rebuild.

Grant Monkhouse

I haven\'t heard anything about the car since rotorstock and he had just had a new turbo and rebuild. The car was running a bit poor then. I take it it has been sorted now then?

Wasn\'t the ecu changed too?

colum

ecu was changed over 2 years ago, yeah, a few electrical gremlins at rs last year and map scaling for new turbo, that was all sorted quickly by marco intime for the next round where we found the car was overpowering the clutch. getting the consistency the car is known for back is this years goal :) think a complete new motor build at the end of this year is on the cards now too as that one is nearly 5 years old now, always learning :)

Grant Monkhouse

5 years? That just goes to show that J ports, big bridges, last a long time

colum

any motor lasts a long time if you build it correctly, use decent parts and maintain it correctly, porting and tuning is always changing, robs ports are waaaay out of date now :) we have a few things planned for his and my new motors :)

Grant Monkhouse

Is rob staying with the side ports?
