It was good to see everybody :)

Sorry I couldn\'t chat for very long (if at all) - I had people with me and wanted to get around to see everything.

A huge number of cars showed up, 884 in one car park alone, not including what was on the grid and in the paddock!

Yeah, good to see you :)

Some cool older Japanese cars there too - never seen a Bellett running before.

I assume yours was the dark blue one parked in the circle?  Looked mint, love those RE-Ameiya split rims.  It was getting a lot of favourable attention, one guy said he mistook it for a Jag at first.

I love the GPS aerial on the roof!!

Great pictures :)  I carted my camera around all day (with spare batteries) and took nothing :(

Had a great day today with the three (yes - only three) RX8OC members doing a truncated breakfast run down to Goodwood for the Sushi Sumday Breakfast Club.

We hooked up behind a Lexus LFA - who was driving very sensibly and having a lot of fun on the stretches where it was possible to... Good to say we easily managed to keep up with him... So what\'s best a £350K Supercar or £25K Super Rotary Sports Coupe? I know where my money is!

My pictures are up here, with a selection below:

Three R3s parked in the paddock:

Brett\'s (@MRC) Mazda Montrose:

Mazdaspeed AZ-1 - very rare "microcar" import (non-Rotary, I think):

Countzero\'s RX-8 - gives you wings:

The £350K Lexus LFA we followed down. Beautiful rear end I must say, but could not get a photo of that given the position of the wall!

Wheels not dissimilar to the R3s!!

This bloke was being interviewed about the NSX next to him... Is he famous or just an NSX Geek?

Always loved these Datsuns (though not geeky enough to know if it\'s a 240, 260 or 280z!):

Lovely black example, belonging to RX8OC member?

Lovely wheels:

And a proper GT rear wing, mounted purposefully high - no Ironing here!

A rare toyota something-or-other (Nigel will fill you in with copious details!). Love the JDM style plate with a UK reg.

OK, hands up how many of you have waved/flashed an approaching Honda S2000... thinking it\'s an RX-8?

Lovely example of an FD... But wait, what kind of intake & coil packs are those!

Oh... A chevvy small-block!! Apparently it does NOT affect the handling badly, and gives a super 350ft-lb of torque from 1500 RPM - something Rotary lovers can only dream of!
(No blaspheming, I think the owner is too scared to post anything here!) ;)

A ruined MX-3! (AMH - does this bring back any memories - I bet yours was not this distasteful?)

There were too many GT86\'s to be bothered taking any photos of them... We were all commenting that we\'d not seen a BRZ in the flesh, when we chanced upon this!!
The front-end is much more purposeful looking than the Toyota offering, IMO!

Lovely white 40th anniversary, from an RX8OC member - photos just cannot capture the beauty of this paintwork!

Stickers much more subtle than Nigel\'s ;-)
RX-8 R3, Diamond Grey = :D BIGGER smiles :D
Bare-naked as the day she was born. RoSPA Gold (3/2010), IAM (3/2009) Advance Driver - the best safety and performance driver upgrade!

Gone, but not forgotten: RX-8 High Power, Titanium Grey, Black Leather. RIP 28/08/2009

The AZ-1 fits the \'Kei\' class microcar regulations, and has a 660cc turbo three cylinder engine in MR layout.  It\'s actually the same engine as in a Suzuki Cappucino ISTR (the one car conspicuously absent yesterday).

There were a lot of engine-swapped cars on the grid:
The blue Datsun was running a Toyota 2.5l turbo
Brett\'s Montrose with 13B
A red S13 with a Lexus V8
A dark blue S14 with a BMW V8
The blue FD with the Chevy V8

Brett

I spotted a Honda Beat in the car park, also Richard (who we met at Brooklands) was there with his 13B powered midget.  Hopefully he will post up some details on here :)

Indeed yes and thank you. Another chap asked what it was then proceeded to recite the history of Felix Wankel to me. Some lads quizzed me when I was leaving on what it was and were a little surprised with what they learnt. Most people have no idea.

Can\'t believe I missed the AZ-1!

Nice pics Nigel... But, you need to set the date / time on your camera, or else turn off the date/time embedding in the pics! ;)

Looks like Sushi Sunday is getting a bit of a bashing on PH for being "Too japanese"
