I\'m confused again (i know, not difficult). Doing some research on BOV, i keep coming up with reciprocating and open, wastegates, dump valves, blow off valves etc.

With a pretty much stock TII, only an exhaust i think. Where the hell do i fit what BOV/etc? I\'ve seen some say as close to the TB, others say intercooler pipe, another say where the existing wastegate or whatever it is is.

Anyone got a walkthrough for dummies. Bearing in mind i only reallu know that TB is throttle bodies and AFM is air flow meter.

The best place for it is as close to the throttle body as you can get it really

Skifledanabit

Would that be possible if i just buy a kit?

After the various google searches, the yanks say the HKS SS kit is near enough a direct fit. That and they say why have a BOV with a standard turbo. Its because I want to be gay and make whoosh noises dammit!

i have a Blitz BOV no mine and it doesnt seem to whoooosh as good as the one on the auto

If you look at the TMIC from the front of the car , there is a elbow on the left hand side of the TMIC , that is connected to a metal pipe about 10 inchs long , with the bov on it

You usually get the bov and the pipe and replace the unit

its about a 10 min job :D

the TII comes as standard with a recirc valve - like a blow off valve but it doesn\'t vent to atmosphere.  It\'s a round object plumbed in between the pipe Stu is talking about and the air intake - it feeds into one of those 90 elbows normally.

When / If you replace it with a valve that vents to atmosphere you should block the intake pipe hole.  You also need to get a double piston valve, or you\'ll have some funny issues with idle.

Thanks prof. Which brands are preferred then?

If you get a Baileys make sure its a DV26 and not a DV24, I had a DV24....it didn\'t go well lol

Brett

I\'ve used Blitz and HKS, blitz is my preference :)

All those brands work (as M1tch says get the correct Baileys Valve), it\'s more a preference for looks and sound.  Baileys valve is compact and not too showy sound wise, and has been reliable for me.

I recently (yesterday) fitted a BOV to my FC... It really is a 10 min job... Easy to access... And it does make a nice noise :D

I\'m not sure what brand it was, I got it 2nd hand from a thread in the for sale section, I can post up a pic of how it\'s fitted if it would help...

Just make sure you block up any air holes - I missed the one in the rubber intake hose where the original recirc valve went to.

Skifledanabit

So, aside from the BOV itself, what else will i need? T piece? Etc. If you do have pics, post them up please.

I\'ll take a pic of mine tomorrow (well.. today technically)... Sorry, I totally forgot about doing it...

Basically you need a BOV (and appropriate pipe to connect it with) and something to block off the hole in the air intake pipe... You might need a length of vac hose as well if the one from the recirc valve isn\'t long enough...

I will try and get the pics before I go to work and get them online once I\'m there... Otherwise I\'ll do it when I get home in the evening :)
