fc alternator upgrade

hi guys my alternator is failing can i fit a fd or rx8 one as they seem to b the same or can i upgrade the fc one to a  higher ampage? cheers

The fd alternator would require modifying to fit as the lobes for fixing it are slightly offset, either get yours rebuilt (best and cheapest option) or speak to the rebuild guys and see if they can up the alternator power, this is what I\'m going to do as I\'m using an fc alternator on my rx4. Or alternatively knight sport do upgraded fc alternators but last time I checked their website is in Japanese!! I think it is upgraded to 110A iirc. It\'s not that expensive either.

Haven\'t looked yet:( I got my last alternator recond, gave it to local auto parts store and they sent it off for me. I will be taking it there myself. Just need to find out where they are.

There used to be a magneto/dynamo/alternator specialists in Earlsfield - near the railway bridge IIRC.  Haven\'t been that way for a few years but it might still be there and it\'s fairly close to you - worth a punt on google!
