brought my first RX7 in 93ish it was a gen 1 series 3 85 in black, brought it as i moved house and it was layed up on the street with no road tax, a woman 2 doors down owned it, loved the look of the car knew nothing about rotary engines, left a note on it asking if she wanted to sell it. She has just got a company car and knew she had to sell it but had done nothing with it.... the rest is history!

Because I didn\'t know Rx7 had "the" Rotary engine which will blow on me 6 times!! We all know, if I had known that fact, I would have never imported one!! Loll

because rotary\'s like two stoke bikes, "powerband" and hooked ever since from the 80\'s
and also never own a turbo/fuel injection car in my life, just carb only!

Bought mine in 2007 when I got promoted at work, was over 25 and I thought the RX8 looked interesting and would be more dependable than a TVR.  Not so sure now but I\'m hooked!
RX8 High Power, Cusco Coilovers, Dotz wheels and flames. Shoe Size 12

Apparently putting details of your car spec in your signature means the nice folks on exile-rotorsport think you\'re a fool.  I can think of no higher compliment!

My interest was perked due to an edition of Max Power where Gary Goodings purple rx7 was the cover car, never seen one before and loved the curves and the overall look of it.

When searching for my first RX a friend then pointed out that i might want to watch Fast and Furious as the main character drives a RX7 :Laugh

Have owned 4 rotaries since then, only moved away from the scene after needing a family car for my 2 kids :Ladys-man

turbo boy

After seeing one in max power`s "beast from the east" vhs tape back in 1999 i thought it was the most beautiful car i`d ever seen. Fast forward to 2006 and i brought a standard red fd. It took me a month to pluck up the courage to floor it on a topspeed run on the a1, couldn`t believe how fast it was.

Even tho i`ve parted way with the rotary in favour of a v8 i still respect it and will always have my fd..

Grant Monkhouse

Always wanted one ever since seeingthe Dragon Performance drag fd In max power. Went from a 1275GT mini too an FD! At least 4 times the power BUT didn\'t feel that much more powerful.

Now onto my rx4, maybe once iv finished it I will have another fd as a toy

Casey

Was looking for a new car in 2004 and wanted something a "bit different" to feed my (early ;)) mid-life crisis.

I had a long list of potential cars to test drive, gleaned from internet and magazine research. I test drove an RX-8 first and promptly tore up the rest of the list without looking any further :). Put deposit down next day for RX-8 as there was a 4 month wait.

Now also have an RX-7 1st Gen alongside the RX-8 in the garage :InLove

Rotary engine cars should come with a health warning to say they are addictive - nobody warned me :Laugh

Many of you know I started out with Mazda as an apprentice "swooning" over early Rotarys, particularly over the RX-4.

I then lost touch with Rotarys while off racing all sorts of piston engined things until 1997 when I went out looking for a Ford Sierra Turbo Diesel estate for work and came back with an EGI    :3Confused.

The rest as they say is history, had I not clapped eyes on the EGI pictured below there would have been no MRC !!
All the best Clive

Bought my first one i think it was 1987, looked so white and sporty knew it was a Rotary, but knew nothing about them, until i needed a new exhaust, cost £1000.00. so started the modding removing pumps and pulley, and fitted a Janspeed system.
Lead me not into temptation, I can find it myself...
But i can always do with some help now due to, my advancing years!
