I think the calculations is based on the same air inlet temp being the same throughout?? I would be very sceptical of an engine making 250+ HP NA on a half bridge. 20B maybe, 13B no way??

Surely people\'s porting techniques change through research allowing for better gains?.

Why would you be sceptic of a half bridge making that?. You know my setup from Fduk so your aware its pretty much there. :)

by using the calculation to give you your NA hp, you are looking at 300engine hp to make 600engine hp at 1 bar boost, 600engine power is roughly 500RWHP.

i dont doubt Jay knows what he his doing. but 500RWHP at 1 bar is going to be an awesome achievement, by the calc that also equals 900 engine hp at 2 bar!!

why havent you got a thread on here BTW??

JayDee

If you had two air pumps and turn them on for 2 seconds, one feeding a 5l bottle the other a 10l bottle which one holds more air?
The way i see it, it would be the same but one is under less pressure?

JayDee

For a road car it is on the high side, but i ask how much power is required for 145mph in a 2800Ib car with driver, forget the dyno graph, i would say it was possible at .8 but it done it!!

Huh?

I\'m just working it off the calculation Peter gave. 300fwhp from a half bridge is PP territory. It doesn\'t make sense to me that\'s all.

JayDee

i think you took that wrong, im saying you would not think that possible at .8. Not using Peters equation, just general calculations using weight and mph

Just a quick calculation using Google

2800lb car/145mph terminal over a quarter mile = 666bhp ish :)

Ah right. Didn\'t understand. James ran 145 at .8ba? That is down to car setup though isn\'t it?

Using that 666hp figure and using peters calculation gives 370hp NA! That\'s 40hp more than previous calc. Something\'s just aren\'t adding up

JayDee

i know, let me check mph, could have been 140, i\'ll start another thread at some point a bit off topic

Yeh, think I should move these posts into a seperate thread. Peres I to is good, you can learn things from the stuff he posts. You should see the ecu he\'s using now. It\'s insane!

JayDee

Which ecu is it?
