Decat pipe on a RX8

A guy I know is about to put a decat pipe on his RX8 which is stock. I have got an RX7 and I know I would need to get the car mapped if I put a decat on it. Is this the case with an RX8?

No it will run without the need of a remap
But he will find he will have the CEL engine light on and may need to look at adding a spacer to the rear O2 sensor

You only need to map if you\'re turbo charged as, like the RX7, you can get more boost as the exhaust is less restrictive.  N/A RX8 you don\'t need to.  He\'ll get flames too.
