what should be the maximum safe boost on this setup ?

stock FD engine (compression test: low to mid 7\'s)
Power FC
FMIC
KOYO radiator  ( good temperatures)
standard downpipe
custom exhaust no cat from downpipe.
stock twins in sequential.
Bailey dump valve
Apexi air filters
standard fuel system.

also would an aftermarket downpipe make any difference to performance?

thanks.

You can easy go 0.8 BAR after mapping on that setup, and if you have enough fuelling 0.9 to 1 BAR (you may need to uprade injectors, fpr, pump)

yes a downpipe will give you extra power.

But you do need it mapped by a tuner before increasing boost, you are probably right near the limit as it is on the base map on the Power FC on your spec

mine has been mapped, and i believe it was set to a maximum of 1.1 bar.  whats the fpr ?

any suggestions on the downpipe  ?

BlitzBoy

who was it mapped by , then you can ask that tuner if you can raise boost?

If you put the donwpipe on , the engine will flow more air and therefore it will need to be remapped

fpr = fuel pressure regulator

it was a local rx7 specialist, not one of the well known places. is 1.1 bar safe though ? he did suggest it could be wound down a bit.

HaywardRotary

1.1 bar is a bit too high really.
As Mark has said 0.8 to 0.9 bar would be about right to be safe.

ok thanks! if I upgrade the fueling what could be the maximum boost with my setup ? and where do I go from there to gain even more ?

cheers
