Have you tried selling the car in one peice? It strikes me that if you did sell it for parts you may want to get people lined up for things like the Engine and shell (the big slow moving things) or your going to end up with a half stripped FD sat on your drive for ages.

TBH even though i was first to reply and would like to buy bits of you i\'d far rather see some one buy this car as one peice and look after it. That said, If you do end up breaking i\'m sure we can do a deal on the Turbo Kit and ARB\'s so at least that would be one of the more expencive bits sold.

@ lucas  the gearbox was checked over ans recon\'d by a mazda mechanic in bournemouth who has an fd all he had to replace was some bits to do with the selectors. its not been on my car that long but has no noises at all.
 
the reason i am breaking it is because this is a pretty high spec\'d fd and no one want to spend the money on them. i started a thread on here trying to figure out what it is worth and got valuations from 5k upwards and with people in the club suggesting prices like that then there is no hope for fd\'s to hold their money these days. people think they can get a cheapy and make it like my car for under £8k but if you started with a decent fd that didnt need an engine you would be looking at £15k to get this spec and that would be buying 2nd hand parts if you can find them.
 
saying that i have had 4 people asking about buying the car as a whole and i have offered it at £9k as it is i was going to advertise it for 11k and take 10k but just to keep the car together i will take this hit. i wont budge a penny lower than that though. as i would easily get £10k+ and after going through everything probably over 12k once every single bit had gone.

TBH if it was me unless time was important i\'d be advertising it everywhere, maybe going to shows with for sale signs in first. Maybe then get people lined up who are committed (maybe take deposits just so you don’t get people going missing when the time comes) and have buyers for the large bits you might get stuck with.

Its sad that the Performance car Market is so slow at the moment and putting people into this situation.
