So keen to go to some track days! And my brakes are:censored: so what\'s the best brake set up to go
For? Bearing in mind cost.....

tinker-27

Try carbone Lorraine they are very good price aside , try there Rc6 compound they will impress you !!! Give paul a ring on 07974153964 tell him I gave you his Nebraska and he will look after you on price

brodierx7

Do they just do pads?

brodierx7

K sport brakes any good? Not so easy to find rear brakes....

bimbleuk

Sort your standard brakes first maybe they aren\'t exactly crap to start with. Certainly the Carbone Lorraine would be top of my list of pads to try. Then some ducting directly on the caliper will help too. After that just do 5 lap stints with cool down laps in between.

brodierx7

Sounds like these pads are very good! Think my discs are quite fair witch is why I thought I would just go for a bigger brake kit? But then again I haven\'t been on the track yet so would new discs and carbone lorraine pads do the job? Or just go bigger?

Your brake fluid could just be cooked! Try changing out all the fluid for dot 5.1 stuff

brodierx7

Fair chance! Not been changed since I got the car :Nono! Does it matter what make of that dot 5.1 I go for or is it all the same?

wolfie1

Well 5.1 has a higher boiling point so would be better if you we\'re tracking it, we use ferodo 5.1 at work on track cars

brodierx7

Perfect cheers. I will get some ordered and hopefully make some room in the garage to get it changed and do other bits and pieces.

bmatharu

Doesn\'t mix with other types of brake fluid so make sure you flush out all the old fluid so that you just have the 5.1 in the system

bimbleuk

5.1 and similar fuilds are hydroscopic (not sure if they are more so than 3 or 4) so you should bleed them regularly. Doesn\'t take much moisture to degrade the performance of the higher temp fluids to DOT 3/4 levels. Maybe the fluid in there already is well past it\'s useful life.
