Thanks for all of that information mate. I\'m 6 ft on the nose basically, so headroom is ok... Just! My build is on the larger side, but was comfortable nonetheless. I probably will opt for different seats and steering wheel as I had similar problems to you, just not as bad it seems.

With regards to wheels and coilovers, I am not looking to buy s**t stuff. My budget allows me to be able to buy good modifications. Volks would be an option, but roughly how much are they? For the sake of a few extra kg\'s I\'d probably keep with the Rota\'s if I\'m honest, but as I said earlier, I\'m open to suggestions so they are all gratefully received. I\'d also never throw any if the original parts as I would always have the option to sell the car on with the OEM parts or reverted back to standard :-)

Jon_P

Just googled the price of the Volks, and they\'re probably not worth the extra thousand odd to achieve the loss of a few kg\'s all round.

being a stock RS wheel lover (my sliver one has the RS wheels) I say keep the wheels as is and just lower it with springs.

Decat pipe, Induction kit eg RE-A or HKS RS, HKS or Feed downpipe,Apexi ECU, Adjustable FPR, Remap and up the boost to 12 to 13 psi should see you at 340-350 fly quite easily.

Welcome to MRC, as said above you have one real nice car there :chat

As you have already found above we have guys that will give you sound advice with whatever you do with the car.

Enjoy, I know you will especially if you put this car near a track and see the comparison between what you had and what you now have :burnout
All the best Clive

Martin is a Top Bloke matey. In my opinion you don\'t need to worry about buying things off him. I actually like this car a lot when it was up for sale. However, sitting on 30k plus FD myself pushed me right back to the corner :(.

Indeed it\'s a very good buy :)

So it was you! Great car you got there. Nearly bought it myself, Only reason I didnt was because I knew I would modify it, and thats not fair to a \'99. Drives like a dream too. Well done, now dont go ruining it with silly wheels and BGW!!!!

Oh and if there is one person to buy from, thats Martin

Jon_P

Thanks for all the welcomes guys. And appreciate all the advice and wise knowledge from you all. Not to mention everyone approving of the car and buying it from Martin. When I went to meet him a few days ago and test drove the car etc, he was brilliant. Very knowledgeable and very honest. He was honest up front before I even took the drive to his place in W Sussex.

As for ruining the car, I have absolutely no intentions of that. Assuming that BGW stands for Big Gay Wing, that will NOT be happening!!! I\'m not one for those types of mods. I do want to change the wheels just to make it "mine" mad unique but I am not looking at modding the hell out of her. I\'m not into kits or spoilers etc so rest assured it won\'t be "chaved" up, pardon the expression. Just wheels and lowered and the apart from that, it\'ll be a few engine mods and maybe a slight ICE upgrade.

BlitzBoy - Thanks for the performance tips :)
Clive - Thanks for the welcome. I will be taking her to a few tracks for sure, but not until I\'m used to how she drives etc. The difference between the performance and handling of the Rex and my M5 will be rather large, so need time to adjust to the twin turbo and handling etc. Really looking forward to it though :-) Performance wise I\'m sure my M5 would have the edge. She was 550bhp and 400ft/lb torque, but obviously she was heavy. Didn\'t stop her hitting 60 in the low 4s and top end I had 211mph on GPS.

Once again, thanks all for the welcomes and words of advice etc :-) It\'s all very much appreciated.

Thanks for the welcome and also showing me the wheels. No denying they\'re lovely wheels bud, just not my kind of style I\'m afraid. Lovely all the same :) GLWTS

TBH mate if you get the RX7 over 350bhp i\'m guessing it would have the beating of the M5 on most roads

Jon_P

Do you mean the M5 would beat it or vice versa mate?

Jon_P

At 350bhp the RX7 should have the edge up to 100mph, I would THINK. But after 100mph, I reckon my old M5 would get it....

boosted

and then at 155mph your m5 limited would get overtaken !

Jon_P

Who said my M5 was limited? Lol! I had a re-map and delimit done. Before that she stopped at 168mph GPS and after, I had 211mph GPS ;-)

Jon_P

Whilst on the topic of top speed, what is the top speed of an RX7?? I\'ve read 150-155mph in some places and others over 160mph etc. Just wondered what the "norm" was?!
