After owning my dream car for the past 4 years the time has come to part ways â€" babies and sports cars really don’t go together!

I purchased this car from a close friend in 2008, who himself imported from Japan in 2003 from renowned importer New Era, who are known to only source the highest quality cars.

She’s a 1996 Type RS, a high spec model which includes up rated Brakes and Bilstein suspension as well as the later 16 bit ecu.

The clock reads 109,000 and has been converted to miles; the engine is in great condition following an extensive rebuild by Roteckniks in 2007.

Modifications have been kept to a minimum and the engine is untouched, both turbos boost well and there is a smooth but noticeable transition between the primary and secondary turbo. A Racing Beat cat back exhaust system has been added which gives a subtle burble on idle but really livens up as the revs climb. Bodywork is standard although the original whale tail spoiler has been replaced by a genuine Mazda 99 spec spoiler, which really finishes the car off nicely. The standard wheels have been finished in a dark metallic grey and are in excellent condition with no kerbing.

Since owning the car I have religiously service the car every six months using the well know specialist Super 7 autos, Jason the owner has always been complimentary of the car. During the last service a compression test was completed verifying the condition of the engine.

Front 8.41 â€" 8.27 â€" 8.48
Rear 8.61 â€" 8.41 â€" 8.75

As with any car this age there are a few negatives, there is a very tiny amount of surface rust on the passenger side rear wheel arch, but this has not spread in the time I’ve had the car and elsewhere the car is free of rust, having been under sealed in 2010. There are a few stone chips on the front bumper and bonnet.

It saddens me to sell her and I will own another one day, it’s truly the best car I’ve ever owned, has been reliable, and for a 16 year old car still turns heads wherever it goes.

Any questions at all either call/text me on 07747 594979 or PM me. £4,750.

I wish it was mate, although I\'d happily let you have it for 6 :Giggle

Markets really down at the moment as others have said, crazy how much you can get for your money these days.

Fabulous example, hope it stays original. Love the MOMO wheel, do you know if it was only an option on RS-R\'s? I\'ve been looking for 1, but seems to be a rare find.

Hi mate, I have an RZ with one of these wheels if it helps.. Not sure if any other models had them though

I\'d be asking more if I was you...Looks like a nice clean & tasteful example of an FD :)

Thanks for the comments everyone - it’s been a great car to own and selling it was such a hard decision to make, since my son was born he’s car seat and pram won’t fit in it unfortunately. Someone will be getting a truly great car, and even though standard it still has the ability to puts a smile on my face every time I drive it, just turning the key feels like such an event and I will no doubt miss this car every day once it’s gone. Like I said I will own another one day.

I think the price is fair, I could hold out for more but deep down we all know the markets dead, everyone seems more interested in MPG than BHP these days. £4,750 is the lowest I will go though I believe it to be a fair price.

I believe the Momo wheel is standard feature on the RS, as I’ve seen others for sale with it too – although post 99 I think they had Nardi’s. Indecently a friend has an import MX5 and it has exactly the same Momo wheel?

If the weather allows I plan to give the car a full wash and wax so will get some better pictures up.

They were taken in October last year; car has covered about 4k since then (and subsequently had another service).

I forgot to mention in my earlier messages that the 2007 rebuild was done at 87,000 (I have the paperwork to back this up), so it’s done 20k since then. Compression tests show she’s got plenty of life in her yet.

I neglected to mention in my earlier posts that the car has a full Toad Alarm and immobiliser.

I have also replaced the front side lights and numberplate since the photos were taken.

Some updated images of the documentation.

Compression test carried out at Super 7 Autos.

Details of rebuild carried out by Rotechniks

All 9 MOT\'s since import - all passes

Does that really say £15 to replace a battery!!!
