Hi folks :WaveBye have been registered on here for a while and have done a LOT of reading (and perusing of the for sale section) but only made my first post today.

Have been an admirer of the RX-7 for many years, but until recently have been doing far too many miles to warrant a 15-20mpg car as a daily... and just haven\'t been able to afford a second motor. My job has changed now and i get the train to work, so it\'s time for a change.

Started off in a mini, since had several disposable :censored::censored::censored::censored:boxes, a saxo vtr (bad times) and a uk turbo impreza - but it\'s now time to join the rotary world! I did look at the RX-8 at first, as the amount of car you can get for £3k is unreal - but i just thought that they were a bit too much of a compromise away from the out-and-out performance of the seven. After a fairly uninspiring test drive of a 231, it pretty much made my mind up there and then!

Have been to look at a couple (including one advertised on here) but haven\'t found \'the one\' yet - although i\'m sure she is not far away...... My budget is around £4k but i realise i\'m probably gonna end up with something that needs a bit of TLC for that kind of money.

As soon as i invest, i\'ll post up some pictures and no doubt start bugging you all with an endless list of questions!!

Well that\'s it - have taken the plunge and am now the proud owner of a very slightly modified FD. After our first day there are a couple of minor issues, but hopefully nothing i can\'t sort myself. Looking forward to having a tinker with it, so to speak!

One question i did have though - how much oil does it take to raise the level from the minimum to maximum on the dipstick?

Thanks in advance....

Trial and error answered this question! Just under a litre.
