hi everyone.

ive recently fit a new turbo onto my 7 after only days after buying it the old one gave up.

since doing so a few things have cropped up so any help with any of them would be ace.

first off my oil pressure gauge is showing no pressure. the first ride out after installing the turbo it showed right at the top. every now and then it shoots up to the top now and then back down to nothing. i have had the dash out and since installing the speedo has also given up. can i assume this is a problem in the cluster and not my oil pressure. just for now anyway, as ive been advised to fit a proper gauge.

whats worrying is that im using alot of oil on a drive. maybe 40 miles or so of mostly gentle driving and some short bursts as and when permitted. im seeing a thrid of the dipstick being used.

my this must be a leak somwhere as im not giving out plumes of blue smoke anymore after replacing the turbo and i do have spots of oil on the drive.

since this has come to effect (i think) after installing the new snail my initial thoughts are the return feed, as the steering rack is wet and tbh its not the best set up in the world in that department. ive taken some pictures of some areas that i could see oil around. this was after wiping them clean.

so are there any areas where leaks are common?

photos may be useless but just trying to show as much as possible.

ive got a thread up on fduk also but instead of filling the forum up with my questions ill pop one up on here too.

return feed in there somewhere

defiantly leaking

one last thing, i have auto dials so i assume it was once a automatic, would these once have been used for that befoer the conversion. just interested is all

thanks in advance folks

i wouldnt worry too much about the gauge, fd oil gauges are inacurate at best, mine sometimes reads near the top, bottom or anywhere inbetween
