Small update for those interested.

I took the car off the road last november for the winter and to save money. During those few months I have gathered a few parts.
USDM aero mirrors that I had to repair and paint, Convertible turbo alloy bonnet and I still have a decat to fit. These are the plans for this spring, then the bodywork needs attention. I want a proper turbo front lip spoiler as mine is the wrong one.
I also have a spares car arriving shortly, though I may get it running for a laugh.
I have a slight issue in regards to storage, I need somewhere to work on the car in the dry for a few months.

Pics to follow once I upload them. Mike.

And I imported the headlight cover from China through ebay. It was a very poor fit and finish, I had to adjust both that and the headlight assembely to fit. Its a slightly off shade as I painted it with some spare VW white I had as the car is going to have some paint work soon. Mike.

Heres some pics of the mirrors. They were advertised as one being ok and the other having a crack in the middle. I can repair bodywork to a good standard so I went for them (my girlfriend bought them for me for christmas). Unfortantly when they arrived the broken one was mis-described and had a large chunk missing where it meets the door. After some messaging to the American seller he refunded us and I set about repairing the mirror.
I had to stip the mirror down which involved breaking the glass as these are use once glass. I then had to break the mirror housing completly in half and re aglin the housing back together using some very strong glue and poweder.
I then fillered then crack and went onto filling the big hole with fibreglass. The total repair time for the one mirror was approx 3days on and off.

And here it is painted (the other was simple and only needed flatting, primering and painting)

I look forward to seeing them installed.

Im either going to source a glass via Ebay.com. Or I will buy a \'cut to shape\' glass from a car parts store. Lucky for me only one needs the glass. Its a silly design, to access the internals the glass has to be smashed to gain access to a cross head screw that allows the glass holder to be removed, then you can access the motor assembly and mirror chassis.

grinder

im sure that the glass is on the wrong side cause they are left hand drive cars .. im tempted to get 2 of "the cut to shape" ones and do it that way

UNLESS you can find glass that fits , and if you do , you will have to let me know :D

Cheers. Tbh im going to end up using a \'cut to shape\' mirror as it\'ll be cheaper and take 5 minutes. I priced up some mirrors from america ebay and by the time it gets sent over it\'ll cost me £25 as customs usually charge me.

Thanks for the feedback. Also anyone in the local area to Chester/Mold would be cool to know.

Chester .. err im not "that" far from there .. prob an hour ish ??

Yeah about an hour 15 mins. If I do manage to get it taxed a few of us should meet up as it\'ll be nice. Not many people round here even know what an RX7 is haha.

grinder

i suppose best way is to try and work out who would attend , map it out somehow and then find a middle point .. knowing my luck it would be 5 mins from mine ! LOL
