Clive, this was you in the qualifying session, midway between the exit from Druids and approaching Graham Hill bend. Every time you shifted gear at this point there was a large belch of black smoke. It looked much blacker in colour than I recall is usually the case. Coupled with the oily plug that Jim showed me, I wonder if it is a sign of anything, or a red herring?

When the car started to overboost the ECU started dumping more fuel in to protect the engine, but then it really started to overboost it cut the revs to 5K 

At the end of the day, yes its a pain what the ECU does, but the flip side is, I still have a healthy engine.
