Just remembered, Jon asked me for the date of the first race.

March 26/27 Silverstone International

Today CTRC announced they have 120 cars booked for the event, including the first round of the Super Tourers which are the former BTCC  cars from the 1990's early 2000's

John Cleland will be racing, plus 4 time BTCC champion Colin Turkington will be racing one of the MG's he started with in BTCC amongst other stars.

Hugely expensive cars to run with some needing full engine rebuilds after just 400 miles due to being so highly strung!

I also have a proper test day booked one week before at Brands should anyone wish to come along

Sounds good!

Dunno if I'll get to brands being in the deepest darkest corners of the world, but me and emma will def be at silverstone

Race Car Update------------- Christine continues to fight me !

First of all HUGE thanks to Jim ( lennycarloff) on here, has gone way way beyond the call of duty to get me on track this year and ATM Pip who is also pulling out all the stops as well.

Jim has been an absolute star because initially he thought he could get the car into a workshop, but instead he has completely rewired the car on his drive across the last three weeks, literally in the cold, the rain and the snow up north in Wakefield .

Not only that he has fitted the Devils own water injection and has the car wired for the next stage once we have the car out racing, which is full traction and launch control.
One of the biggest feats has been to make the standard RX-8 throttle pedal, communicate with the Hemi throttle body through the Link Xtreme ECU.

Now for the bad side!

Pip has dropped all his work to get the car sorted and has now been on it for three days.

First issue was that with all the extra electrical draw, the small custom  alternator had a field go down and could not supply enough voltage to map the car. We managed to find a Wosp race alternator that Pips's made fit.

Next with the car now charging, next issue became the car had stopped making boost even though the car was fine last time out.
I made frantic phone calls yesterday afternoon and probably got the only 60mm Tial wastegate that's available in the UK. "Hopefully" this will be delivered this afternoon and it can go on the car Monday and be finally mapped with more boost than ever due to having the water injection that's now on board.

All the panic is to get the car ready for a full day test at Brands on Friday, then all being well off to Silverstone for the first Race of the season the following weekend, the 26h & 27th

Thanks John, it wasn't an easy one. It was made easier by the fact someone had ripped 90% of the detritus out. :13:

Lol. Did you take the rollcage side bar out? I took the passenger side out after 3 days as got fed up climbing over it. Sterling job.
